For those who are unaware, our entire custom draft class starts as Normal dev. This tool takes our draft class and checks a number of factors that typically determine if a player is going to be good or not. Such as:
- The raw skills of the player
- If the player went through a college that is heavily represented in the NFL hall of fame
- Where the player was selected in the draft
- The team scheme fit of the player
- If the player was drafted to replace a superstar or star that is 27 or older
- If the player won any college awards
- If the player made any all-american teams
- If the player won a bowl game
- If the player came from a conference that is heavily represented in the NFL hall of fame
- If the player’s college was a top 25 school at the end of the season
- If the player was heavily recruited out of high school.
The more points they gain from the above chart, the more likely they gain a dev after the draft. There is still randomness to it. A 4 point guy might be super star and a 7 point guy might be normal.
The info above will either have players rise or fall. Players from schools that won bowl games will rise. Players on bad teams with no nfl history will fall. This causes our drafts to be one of the best parts of the league. As you set your draft boards, be sure to research who might get a dev to start their career.
