With the league halfway through the resign stage, there’s a few players that have been left out of contract negotiations and will be testing the market in free agency. Here’s who we believe will be the most highly touted players on the market.
Jaire Alexander CB, 29 years old. X-Factor – With the Baltimore Ravens franchise tagging Tyler Linderbaum, Alexander seems to be the odd man out. At only 29, Jaire has a good 2-3 years of his prime before the PML regression begins to set in. As the only Xfactor seeming to be availble, teams desperate to sure up their secondaries will undoubtedly be ready to bet the farm on this lockdown corner.
Mark Andrews TE, 30 years old. X-Factor – Another departure from the front running Ravens, Andrews is a proven commodity at the TE position. Boasting the Mid in, Short in, and Matchup Nightmare abilities, there’s sure to be teams who are in need of a safety blanket willing to back up the brinks truck to secure Andrew’s services.
David Njoku TE, 30 years old. Superstar – Fresh off a defeat in the Super Bowl, the Browns were rumored to be shopping Njoku late into last season. With resigns underway Njoku is yet to sign a contract. If he were to hit the market, a SS TE, with steamroller, short in, and matchup nightmare abilities may be worth the asking price for the right organization.
Taylor Moton RT, 32 years old. Star – O-line is a highly coveted position in this league. It’s not often that players of Moton caliber enter Free Agency. Although he’s 32 and isn’t of the superstar bracket, he still can be relied upon to protect the Qb’s blindside under the right circumstances. Don’t be surprised to see teams bidding for him on Day 1.
Romeo Doubs WR, 26 years old. Star – With a receiver room full of young talent, it appears the juice of resigning Romeo Doubs just wasn’t worth the squeeze for the Packers. Many teams have SS’s in their WR room but that doesn’t mean a young sure handed player like Doubs can’t be desired to play the Y or Slot WR position. Be on the look out for him cashing out big in the market.
Leo Chenal Sam, 25 years old. Star – Even with the departure of Chris Jones and Travis Kelce into retirement, the Chiefs still seem to be a cash strapped team. With the # 1 pick in all rounds of the upcoming draft, perhaps the Chiefs seek to rebuild that way. One of the cap casualties of this offseason are Chenal who is desirable for his youth, speed, and capacity to develop into an all pro caliber defender in the right system.
Khalil Mack, Edge, 35 years old. SS X-factor – Age ain’t nothing but a number, when all you’re looking for is one season to punish offenses. Sure to be in the waning days of his career, Mack is still one fo the best edge rushers in the league and if the Chargers aren’t able to secure him for another season he will be in high demand come free agency.
Jaquan Brisker, SS, 27 years old. Star – Entering his 5th year out of Penn State, Brisker fell out of favor with the Bears coaching staff this past season. He was shopped around but no one decided to bite on the young hard hitting safety, choosing rather to wait until the offseason. It doesn’t seem likely that a talent like this lasts beyond day 1.
