4.28 LT Shiyazi Pete, 71 OVR
Development Chance: Low, projected 0-1 DDT points
The Giants addressed the offensive line in free agency as well as with pick two, but the best time to develop lineman is in the first two drafts. Any lineman that is taken can be built up and become a steady guy for the rest of the cycle. This is where the selection of Pete came into play. Pete was selected with the twenty eighth pick in the fourth round and was a very good pick given the spot.
Pete is more of a pass blocker and coach Burn knew this when he was selected. He comes out with 89 strength, 81 pass block, 80 pass block finesse, and 70s in all things except run block. His run blocking will need to be worked on, but with such a pass heavy scheme in New York, that can wait. He will be a back up at the moment but he is good enough to come in and play snaps if anyone on the line gets hurt.
He will not have a development trait and he was picked with that in mind.
