Giants Rookie Class: 4.6 LB Ernest Hausman

4.6: LB Ernest Hausman, 68 OVR

Development Chance: Low, projected 3-4 DDT points
The Giants linebacking core was severely lacking before free agency. You had Okereke and some low overall practice squad guys. This severely needed to be addressed and the Giants did an okay job at it by getting linebacker Holcomb but additions still needed to be made. This is where the Giants selected Hausman with the sixth pick in the fourth round. At this point, the idea was to try to get an elite speed linebacker. Hausman was the fastest one on their board but ended up coming out with just 86 speed. His 87 acceleration and 80 change of direction is nice, but 85 jumping is something that is disappointing as well.

Hausman is a player who needs a lot of work. He will play a lot in preseason and primarily back up Holcomb with the hope that he could be something more next season. He will get focused on so the opportunity is there, the issue is can he be that player?

He most likely will come out with a normal development trait, but the hope is that maybe he squeaks out star dev.
