Scouting in Hindsight: DT

A look at the Chicago Bears’ scouting of defensive tackles, which is split into three tiers: First Round Talent, Rounds 2-3 Talent, and Late Round Talent. Each position’s scouting takes into account attributes, most importantly, physicals and age second, and ddt third, along with factoring in personal preferences and who fits the scheme or mold of a Monster of the Midway.

Hindsight

I did my three private workouts for three defensive tackles and it was huge. I had Aaron Graves and Rayshaun Benny both as Rounds 2-3 Talent, before I chose to do them two and Christian Miller. DT was my backup to safety at pick 16, just because I felt I couldn’t take an LB that early (even though Anthony Hill Jr is great and so are Styles/Perkins). Miller was confirmed as a round 1 prospect, while Graves got to jump up and Benny fell down. I do see why Corleone went higher than Graves, but I think I nailed this position, outside of the omissions of Albert Regis and Bryson Eason, who look to be worthy of the 3.16 pick I took Graves at, even though I’d choose him over them anyway.
