A look at the Chicago Bears’ scouting of edge rushers, which is split into three tiers: First Round Talent, Rounds 2-3 Talent, and Late Round Talent. Each position’s scouting takes into account attributes, most importantly, physicals and age second, and ddt third, along with factoring in personal preferences and who fits the scheme or mold of a Monster of the Midway.

Rueben Bain Jr
David Bailey
Matayo Uiagelele
Rounds 2-3 Talent
Keldric Faulk
LT Overton
Korey Foreman

Dani Dennis-Sutton
Rounds 4-7 Talent

Reggie Height
Derick Moore
Kobe Stewart

Hindsight
This is my formal apology to Que. I was locked in on trying to trade up, and I went off of the top of my head and didn’t check my scouting since I wasn’t taking an edge this early. He asked Faulk or Matayo and I said no big difference besides Matayo coming out of Oregon. I have the timestamped scouting to prove that I got it right, then got it wrong when Que asked, and for that I apologize.
Outside of that, I nailed the top talent and saw some other gems like Foreman, but a position I decided wasn’t a pressing issue. They all looked bad as I scouted during the later rounds of the draft.
