The Indianapolis Colts continued their blistering start to the season, improving to 4–0 with a convincing 48–24 win on the road against the New Orleans Saints. While the scoreboard suggests a runaway, this one was competitive early before the Colts flipped the switch and took complete control.
The first half saw both teams trading punches, but everything changed coming out of the locker room. Indianapolis erupted for a 17–0 third quarter and never looked back. The Saints were shut out entirely in the second half as the Colts defense responded to a fiery halftime speech from Coach Greeny, turning up the intensity and suffocating New Orleans the rest of the way.
Offensively, the Colts were once again in full command, piling up 494 total yards compared to just 319 for the Saints. Anthony Richardson continued his MVP-level play, finishing 19-of-23 for 322 passing yards and four touchdowns. His efficiency was the story of the day, as his legs weren’t needed much this week, though he still added five carries for 29 yards to keep the defense honest.
Jonathan Taylor stayed red-hot as well, carrying the ball 15 times for 95 yards and punching in two more rushing touchdowns. His physical running set the tone and helped wear down the Saints defense as the game went on.
Through the air, Tyler Warren led the way with seven receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown, consistently moving the chains. Second-year standout Eugene Wilson delivered the explosive plays, hauling in three catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns, repeatedly flipping the field and putting the Saints on their heels.
Defensively, Indianapolis was just as impressive. Bobby Okereke paced the unit with eight tackles, flying around the field all afternoon. Laiatu Latu made his presence felt up front with two tackles for loss and constant pressure on the quarterback. While sack numbers were limited, Desmond Watson recorded the Colts’ lone sack, and the defensive front consistently collapsed the pocket, continuing a pass rush that entered the week leading the league in sacks.
In the secondary, Segun Olubi came up with the game’s only interception and added a pass deflection, putting the finishing touches on a dominant second-half defensive performance.
With momentum firmly on their side, the Colts now turn their attention to a critical stretch of divisional football. Up next are back-to-back AFC South matchups against the Titans, followed by the Jaguars, as Indianapolis looks to keep its perfect start alive and further separate itself atop the division.
