Ceiling and Floor NFC South: Saints floor set at divisional crown. Not buying into the Falcons hype just yet

Every team hopes to put themselves in a position to not only compete, but hold their spot in the Premier Madden League. What is a teams realistic ceiling in season 1? How good can each team be with their current roster, user, and divisional foes? Or how badly can things fall apart?

Lets dive into the NFC South

Falcons: Nef
Panthers: JT
Saints: JT
Buccaneers: Cammy

Falcons
Ceiling: 8-9, miss playoffs
If you listened to the September 7th edition of The Breakfast Show, it was no secret that Arod, myself, is having difficulty believing that the Falcons are a real threat in the NFC South. The sample size of Nef putting a winning football team on the field is quite small and really doesn’t have much to go by other than a season 5 Patriots near Super Bowl run last cycle. Additionally, the young Falcons team needs a little work before I can raise the ceiling in Atlanta. This will definitely be one of the teams I follow this season- could quote possibly prove me wrong. We’ll see. -Arod

Floor: 4-13
I’d lean closer to the Falcons having a top 5 pick than competing for a wildcard spot this season. To me and I’ve said it on the show, it is Jc’s division all cycle where I will make a hot take right now and call it our potential time share division this cycle for the Saints. I’ll wait til I see more before I jump on the Nef train that a lot of PML seems to be on. -Arod

Panthers
Ceiling: 11 – 6
JT is notorious for a slow start, and rightfully so. He has a d*** league to run. If by chance he has found time to work on this years game he has the coaching acumen to be a force. With a new shiny QB to motivate him, look for JT to have somewhat of a better start to the cycle than usual. Double digit wins is in play. -KingMike

Floor: 2 – 15
JT is a known tanker. With a string class coming in our first draft, there is a real chance JT has his eyes on Marvin Harrison Jr (again). The only way to have a shot at this game changer is to be at the bottom of the league record wise. JT will be “busy” setting up the league and will probably have a good shot at getting his featured WR. He’s not tanking tho… he’s running a league!-KingMike

Saints
Ceiling: 12-5, playoffs and Nfc South crown
When Team selections come around there’s a few teams scoff at the idea of getting and most people will say that team is the: Saints, for some it might be unanimous. If anybody can handle that cap situations it’s Burn, Jac, Cook or JC. I look forward to what Jc does after season 1 when those tough roster cuts come around but for season 1 I expect him to compete in the Nfc and possibly make a deep playoff run in that final year with the full Saints roster. Jc is the best user in that division, and he starts off with the best roster so there’s no reason why he can’t run-away with-it year 1 as you still have: AK, MT, Olave, Lattimore, Cam Jordan and others. After year 2 I might have some doubts but for the first year Jc will be sitting pretty. -Tbandit

Floor:For season 1 when Jc has most of his roster intact there should be no way he misses the playoffs, he’s pretty much a lock but I can see a scenario where he struggles to squeak out that Nfc South crown. His schedule isn’t the easiest with there being no guaranteed wins outside of his divisional games and we kind of know what Jc looked like when his team was built up but he struggled before that Colts team was built up, so you never know if Cammy or Nef cn sneak in there to steal the crown year 1. -Tbandit

Buccaneers
Ceiling:11-6
Head Coach Cammy lands in Tampa Bay after his most successful sucker ever in Cinci. This Bucs offense is better than they get credit for, with two #1 WRs, and a talented Rookie RB Rachaad White. Defensively there is still a mix of veteran talent and young guys that Cammy can compete for this division year 1 and beyond. The biggest question mark on this roster is at QB, with Baker Mayfield. -Bubba

Floor: 7-10
I feel like Cammy has both the skill and roster to be able to compete year 1, but there is a chance Cammy has a hard time with Baker at the helm, as compared to last cycle with Burrow. This division has a couple underrated users and teams, that can steal somr games from a struggling Cammy, if he’s not comfortable. -Bubba
