Each team in the Premier Madden League has some sort of impact player on their team. We all know that teams aren’t even and certain teams have a huge advantage over others, however, each team has at least one player that the coach can work with and help the team win games. In this article, I will go over each team in the AFC and go over their impact players. The NFC impact players will come in the next article.
AFC East:
Bills – Josh Allen SSXF: The Bills will go as far as Allen takes them. He is one of the best if not the quarterbacks in the game. 88 speed, 92 acceleration, with 99 throw power. He can beat you with his arms or legs. Allen will be in the running for MVP at the end of the season.
Jets – Aaron Rodgers SS: The Jets knew that they needed to get an impact player to put them into playoff contention. They did just that with Rodgers and are now instantly considered as one of the best teams in the league. Rodgers is an all time great and brings out the best in everyone around him.
Dolphins – Tyreek Hill SSXF: 99 speed, 99 acceleration, 92 jumping, 95 release. Hill is the fastest receiver in the league. Hill changes the way a defense plays against you. When you can change an entire team’s scheme on defense, you know you are an impact player.
Patriots – Matthew Judon SS – 85 speed, 88 acceleration, 86 strength is always impressive on a linebacker. When you add edge threat to that player, you get someone who makes an impact on the defense.
AFC North:
Ravens: Lamar Jackson SSXF – Some of these players are pretty obvious, but these players make such a difference in the game that if they weren’t on the roster it would be significantly easier for the opponent. This is easily the case with Lamar Jackson. He is the fastest quarterback in the league and you need to watch for the run on every play when facing him. This is the definition of an impact player.
Bengels: Joe Burrow SSXF – Burrow is one of the best quarterbacks in the league with one of the best abilities in Fearless. He can make every throw that is needed no matter the window. If you can’t throw the ball with him, you may want to stick with running every down.
Steelers: TJ Watt SSXF – The Steelers defense revolves around Watt. He is a guy that needs to be doubled team on every play otherwise he is getting to the quarterback. He is Paired with another SS in Hayward which makes him even more dangerous as now you have to pick your poison on who to double team.
Browns: Myles Garrett SSXF – The Browns have a few players that could fit as an impact player but I feel Garrett is their best. He can’t be left on one with a lineman because he will blow by them. The problem with facing the Browns and Garrett is they have another edge threat SS on their line.
AFC West:
Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes SSXF – The best quarterback in the league was an easy choice here. Mahomes is so good he was given his own animation in the game. I haven’t seen it in game but the minute that someone gets this thrown at them is when they will set the controller down.
Chargers: Justin Herbert SS – The Chargers are another team that has multiple impact players but the quarterback position is so important that having a superstar quarterback is impactful. Herbert has deadeye and throw power abilities as a superstar. Just imagine if he goes to x factor.
Broncos: Patrick Surtain SSXF: The Broncos roster is lacking when it comes to impactful players, however, a literal shutdown corner can mask even the biggest hole in a defense. Surtain can lock down one side of the field by himself, which gives much needed flexibility to the rest of the defense.
Raiders: Josh Jacobs – SSXF: The Raiders have a few x factor players on their roster but they just signed their most important one to a deal before the season started. Jacobs makes the defense respect the run every play which frees up the passing game and Admans to go wild.
AFC South:
Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence SS: TLAW was passed around the league last cycle. He lost his ability and then was traded to a Chiefs team that had to sit Mahomes in order to not lose his development trait. It’s safe to say he wasn’t impactful at all. This cycle he has been rejuvenated and given his abilities back. He will be a defense maker in Jacksonville this cycle.
Colts: Jonathan Taylor SS: The trade rumors were all over the place this offseason. Taylor behind that offensive line is what is gonna make the Colts go. They have a rookie quarterback and Taylor is what the team needs in order to take pressure off the rookie.
Titans: Derrick Henry SSXF: The Titans don’t have a lot to be proud about on the team. They have one true difference maker and that is Henry. He can literally break most tackles and take over the game all by himself. When a player can make the offense single handedly, you know they are an impact player.
Texans: Laremy Tunsil – The Texans are the only team without a superstar player, however, that doesn’t mean that they don’t have an impact player. Tunsil is one of the best lineman in the game. You can run behind him as well as expect him to handle anyone in the league in pass protection. He is a premier player and the Texans will do well with him on their team.
We didn’t have many shockers when it came to impact players for each team. Each player chosen gives each team a unique player who the team can be built around. Some are better than others, however, make no mistake any team would be lucky to have any of these players. I’ll be back with the NFC impact players in the next article.
