When I got the Saints this cycle, I was pretty indifferent to that team selection. They aren’t particularly good or bad. The division isn’t easy or hard. They are pretty old, expensive, and without all of their draft capital, however. Either way, these Saints will be a rebuild while competing which I have come to accept. However, it is not as easy as the Colts were so I decided to do something that I believe has never been done in PML.
I have hired an assistant GM. “Hired” is a bit of a joke, I’m not paying him and he didn’t apply for this job. But, I’ve brought on my friend who loves football, specifically the front office portion of the game, to help me run the Saints. He is absolutely awful at Madden so he will never play a snap as the user, but he has already helped a ton. He already knew about PML because he is subscribed to Dlloyd and Cookie. I explained a bit more, but as a football guy he was in since it’s a pretty small commitment.
I met him while we both worked in the recruiting department for Wisconsin, but they don’t use student volunteers anymore so now we’re pouring the effort into PML and this rebuild. While Marshon Lattimore remains a Saint, it’s worth noting he helped organize both that trade and the one involving Ryan Ramczyk to get ideal offers. His specialty however, is college football. He knows where 90% of the NFL went to college and will be a huge help when draft season rolls around in terms of which players have certain specialties as JT is very realistic with our draft classes.
All in all, this is an exciting development for my Saints this cycle and PML as a whole. Trades, re-signs, and draft picks are double checked by someone I trust and understands the vision I have. He also watches my streams and lets me know after the game if certain plays and concepts are effective or not and what caused them to succeed and fail. I think this is a logical step for me to get the most out of the Saints and an easy way to grow PML.
*Note: Hopefully he gets better at Madden because he is a perfect PML member besides that. Knows football, knows PML, knows how to run a team, knows how to call plays in a realistic and sim way. Just right now…. he’d lose to anyone in here by 50.
