A Superstar Is Born

A new rule was voted on and added to the Premier Madden League this offseason. The rule states” Any 92 overall offensive lineman will receive an upgraded development trait to superstar. So far only two lineman have been upgraded, including our very own Left Tackle Andrew Thomas.

Thomas has come a long way since his bad rookie year. He has shown that with hard work and dedication, you can get to one of the best statuses that an offensive lineman can get to. He was able to get three abilities out of four in which the fourth one would be revealed at 95 overall. We will take a look at what he received and go over how useful it is in the Giants offensive scheme.

First Ability: Puller Elite
This is a pretty bad ability for a Left Tackle. At his normal position he won’t be pulling in run plays at all. He will have to be subbed into the depth chart on certain plays in order to even make this ability useful.

Second Ability: Matador

Once again, not the most useful ability compared to some of the other ones that he could have gotten, but it isn’t something that he can’t use. Depending on who is going against him, this ability will be useful but it’s situational and not ideal.

Third Ability: Screen Protector

This is probably the worst ability he could have gotten. It is extremely situational and generally not needed at all.

Thomas got some of the worst abilities available, however, his superstar upgrade will allow him to progress much quicker than normal. The interesting part about this new rule in place is if a lineman above 92 overall loses abilities, he will gain them right back. With hope, Thomas won’t lose abilities, and will gain something like Edge Protector or All Day with his final ability.
