PML Reality Checks: Tons of Cowboy Narratives

Overreactions & Reality Checks for PML

Paying 100 points to take a player off the no trade list is a terrible idea
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
Drama, when me, Que, and yourself went to the front of the ship and you gave us that long speech about us being Madden Bros for life and we all put our pinkies together and drinks in the air to solidify it, I meant every part of it. So why didn’t you just come to me before making such an irresponsible and irrational decision to pay 100 content points to take Smith off the no trade list? I would have given you 100 reasons not to. First of all, let me fill you in. They made it 100 points because they do not want players on the no trade list moved. Second, do you see how the trade committee is moving these days? They approve deals at a 15% rate. Did you know 85% of deals are denied on the initial submission? Additionally, Drama, we have too many trolls in this league. They just saw you spent 100 points to remove this player. This is funny to them to see you suffer. Lastly, your trade partner is in your division. He is a notorious for this type stuff, he will walk away from the deal without moments notice and you just paid 100. The opportunity cost of all this is 100 attribute points that isn’t going into your current roster. Thats maxing out 5 whole players. I don’t want to see you go through any of this nonsense. My DM’s are always open in the future. Madden Bros for life man.

Two ‘Rebuild Teams’ could be our Season 1 Super Bowl
Overreaction or reality: Overreaction
Two of the bottom, if not worst CFM teams this cycle were the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams. Not only are the rosters either thin, old, or just too raw, but they play in divisions with solid users with top teams. So out the gate, the expectations for SpDot (Patriots) and Cookieboy (Rams) were kind of tamed. As we check back heading into week 7, the Rams are undefeated at 6-0, and the Patriots are holding their own at 3-2-1. I think the path for the Rams may be a little easier based on the teams in the NFC, however, for this arrangement to work the Patriots would have to get past the Chargers and Chiefs, and if you want to throw the Jets and Texans into that conversation too, we can. I think it may be a little too premature to say with confidence that the Patriots are able to overcome each of those teams. Although not totally off the table, right now it is an overreaction for me.

This is the best season 1 JT has been
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
Season 1 JT usually has 0-2 wins in the first season (from my PML experience), he already has 2 wins and it’s only 6! JT actually has a chance to win his division in season 1. That alone would make this season 1 JT the best I’ve ever seen, but then you look at the stats… Bryce young has a 11-11 TD-INT ratio, which definitely isn’t the best but it’s usually WAY worse for JT. He’s looked really good running the ball without CMC as well, Chubba Hubbard is looking like a franchise back for Carolina. Watch out NFC South… WHAT YA GONNA DO WHEN JT AND THE CAROLINA PANTHERS RUN WILD ON YOU.

Drama and the Cowboys are a real threat
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
I know Drama has a reputation to strong starts and weak finishes, but I really feel like that’s not the case this season. I experienced it first hand this week, Drama has a great offensive line that gives him lots of time in the pocket, Drama takes full advantage of it by not rushing his decisions and moving around in the pocket if things do get rough on a rare occasion. Dak is looking like a MVP candidate right now with a 18-3 TD-INT ratio. Then on the other side that defense is no joke, I don’t care what the stats say… passing against that defense isn’t easy. Parsons running you down every single play and then trying to make quick passes with Gilmore and Diggs not giving your WRs any room to breathe is difficult. With now the NFC is looking, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a NFC Championship Game appearance in Dramas future.

PML government has caused controversy this cycle – Reality
Out of all my cycles in PML, I’ve never seen as many members p***** off in my life. We’ve got members who have a strong hatred for the anonymous Trade Committee. Even fallen told the TC to f*** themselves. We have high value members that are over 30 point me in debt. Has there ever been this many members in debt + against the Trade Committee before? It seems like there’s been riots in chat against some new changes this cycle.

This is the most sim PML has ever been – Reality
Now I’m not one as you all know to sit there and watch everyone’s games. However, I haven’t seen anyone complain about gameplay. It’s only a matter of time before it starts cause there’s always something folks complain about. But this has been one of the smoother sim starts to the cycle.

Texans are officially in an AFC South timeshare
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
The AFC South has been up and down all season, but one team has remained atop the whole time, The Houston Texans. Led by rookie QB CJ Stroud the Texans stand at 5-1 heading into week 7. Stroud and Rookie WR Tank Dell have found a connection, and a strong run game led by Dameon Pierce has kept the offense on track. While Stroud has done an excellent job taking control of the offense, the defense is what is winning games for the Texans. The Texans currently rank #2 is points scored giving up a measly 19 a game. Texans are also top 10 in yards allowed averaging 347.5 a game. And here’s the scariest part of it all. Keraun has only just gotten his hands on the Texans, this team is on its way to being a juggernaut, built from the ground up.

Overreaction- Drama trying to blow up his team with bad trades
Reality vs Overreaction- Overreaction
If anyone knows how bad Drama is at trading it’s me. Me and Drama have made plenty of deals throughout our time in PML, and both sides have always come away happy. But Drama seems to have some drama again this time with the beloved trade committee. They took 100 points, and now won’t approve his trade. Believe me I know drama has insane values on his own guys, and I can only imagine it’s even higher for hometown Cowboy Tyron Smith, BUT… that’s not for the trade committee to decide. We have 32 very capable users, many who have been here for years, they pay money every month, they are dedicated to this league, just for 5 anonymous guys to babysit a team they don’t know about. This is another overreach by the TC, but what else is new. Let Drama make his trade, force him to dig himself out of the content hole, the league will be better for it.
