PML Reality Checks: Falcons are real deal. Eagles user ruins yet another team.

Overreactions & Reality Checks for PML

The Derrick Henry trade was a win now made by a team potentially drafting inside the top 10
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
As unbiased as I could be I am going to address this trade. So Derrick Henry is arguably the most dangerous running back in the game. He was on a Titans team that was borderline contending for a wildcard position, but more than likely will be scouting top 12 draft prospects come off-season. Knowing what it was, Dlloyd put King Henry on the block, and we all assumed with his age and salary, he would be headed towards a team that is in contention to make a title run this season. He could have been seen as the missing piece to a Super Bowl contending team to put them over the edge. So where did he wind up going? He went to the Philadelphia Eagles, who are sitting at 3-6, and 2.5 games out of the final wildcard spot in NFC. Keep in mind, the Eagles have one of the toughest schedules in the league. At the time of the trade, they sat 3-5 with the Cowboys, Chiefs, Seahawks, Bills, and 49ers as their upcoming games. Why in the world are you taking on a 29 year old running back who is making 16.5 million a year who needs to be resigned in the off-season? His desired contract calls for 13 million a year for a running back who will be 30 years old come resign. They already have D’Andre Swift on the roster who just reached superstar status while leading the league in rushing and is only 24 years old. They also just traded for Ty Chandler, a star dev speedster who is on the cusp of superstardom. To top everything off, they had to remove an ability player to make room for Derrick Henry. What in the world is Eagles management doing over there in Philly? They traded a potential top 10 pick for a RB who is turning 30 while they already have a league leading Superstar and had to remove a superstar ability from current roster. Uff, man I really dont know.

JC and the Saints pulled the heist of the Century
Overreaction or reality: Reality
JC laid out the plan in the off-season. He struggled to get by the trade committee to execute on the blueprint he drew up. Did all these struggles work out for him in the end? When the smoke cleared, the Saints traded their expensive, aging superstar CB Lattimore to the Broncos for a draft pick that has the potential to be a number 1 overall in the Caleb Williams sweepstakes. The Broncos currently sit at 1-7, tied for the worst record in the league. Imagine trading a chance at Caleb, or even some of the other top quarterbacks in the draft for Lattimore? The rebuild is looking better than anticipated in New Orleans and they should have their franchise quarterback courtesy of the Broncos for season 2.

Deebo is better off WITHOUT Waddle
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
I know it sounds crazy, but sometimes you can have addition by subtraction. While Waddle is undoubtedly an extremely talented and valuable receiver, Deebo and the Fins offense isn’t as great of a fit as you’d think. Similar to the NFL Dolphins, PMLs Dolphins are actually a very run heavy team. The speed all over the offense allows Deebo to be creative and disguise plays while the defense is too scared to get beat over the top by Tyreek Hill. Waddle only Had ~300 yards and 1 TD over 8 games, while both Dolphins RB have double digit TDs. Deebo is currently 5-3 and neck and neck with division rival Bills. I think Deebo committing to his offensive philosophy, and getting back a haul will make his team better both right not and definitely long term.

Lamar will be the first 30 INT causality
Reality or Overreaction: Overreaction
Lamar Jackson currently has thrown 18 INTs through 9 games, which is the highest out of any XF or Superstar QB. After his week 1 struggle vs the Texans where Jackson threw 6 INTs, there has been eyes on Arod and Jackson to see if he would be our first 30 INT dev loss. Since that game Jackson has only thrown 12 INTs, and the Ravens have beaten 2 division opponents. While statistically Jackson is still on pace to hit the 30+ mark, playing as the Ravens you have adjust to a very particular style of football and it seems normal to have a short adjustment period. Now with the way Arod and the Ravens have been playing I think he is well aware of the rule and plans to do everything in his power to not break it.

Waddle makes the Falcons a top 5 offense
Reality or overreaction: Overreaction

Waddle was a great addition for the Falcons offense. He’s got everything: the 98 speed, the superstar abilities, 88 overall, and youth. You pair that with Pitts, Bijan, and London… a lot of people would call that a top 5 offense, but I’m not ready to say that just yet. They are missing one key piece, and that’s a credible QB. Ridder is entering his second season, his first season as a starter as a 70 overall. He currently has thrown more interceptions than he has touchdowns. Expecting this offense to be top 5 with that guy as QB is delusional. They need Ridder to progress or find a new QB before they can reach that top 5 potential.

Jukebox most broken ability since M22 escape artist
Reality or overreaction: Reality
I’m sure you all remember Bubba with Josh Allen and know how unstoppable and OP that was. Last cycle there were some good abilities but nothing as broken as that… this cycle juke box has matched it. These users that have juke box might have to buy a new controller after every season with how much and how hard they’re pressing their analog stick in. Every touch they get they’re juking, they could have a wide open first down if they just run straight but they’re still juking. The worst part about it… IT WORKS. Every time they get a crazy animation and it causes the defender to fall and sometimes it’s more than one defender. I’ve seen 4 defenders fall from 2 jukes during the same play. Juke box might be as much of a game changer as the QB velo abilities, I’ve seen stretches get blown up so they juke back inside with juke box and gain 10 yards.

Dramaman and the cowboys run the NFCE and are contenders
Reality or overreaction: Reality
Drama has essentially secured the division title and will be going to the playoffs. He’s blown out the not so good teams and has had nail biters against top users and has shown he can win those games. Drama needs his respect, he made a lot of clutch dots in that eagles game. I believe drama would’ve lost that game in any previous cycle but he’s different now. People were calling his dots lucky but if cookieboy17 was making those throws nobody would bat an eye and just assume he’s him. I think drama has a real chance of being a 5 time divisional winner if he can stay locked in and away from conspiracy theories.

Keruan and the Texans are the favorites for the 1 seed
Reality or overreaction: Reality
Texans are 7-1 with the #1 defense in PML. 17 PPG allowed (#1) 312 yards allowed (#2). They are running the ball and avoiding TOs while playing great defense. And it’s not only on the defense. The offense is doing a great job of field position football and not giving up short fields, they have given up only 14 turnovers to 25 forced. Shroud is really protecting the ball and tank dell and nico Collins are leading the team in receiving . They don’t have a hard schedule at all and I can see this team winning 14-15 games szn 1 and unless the chargers & chiefs buckle down they will be fighting for the 2 seed

Defense this year is harder than ever – Reality.

As a user who has 2 superstar defensive lineman, it sounds hypocritical for me to say this. However, it is actually harder than ever before to play defense. You have to know that when you play zone or match coverage that you are giving at least something up, and it’s a matter of if that QB can find the holes in the coverage. This Madden, these holes in coverage are more prominent than ever before. I feel like it’s hard to stop offenses with elite weapons. You have to put your thinking cap on to really find ways to slow down these offenses.

The Falcons are now serious NFC contenders. – Reality

After making a move for Waddle, the falcons now have the best offense in the NFC and probably in all of PML. He has a top tier TE and a 99 speed WR. He’s been on a winning streak after this trade. With how bad defense is this year, it’s hard to stop this team. Pressure is now on Nef these days, it’s time to do something. This offense is now deadly. NFC watch out.
