After an exciting round of week 15 games, we are in week 16. In simming through the week 16 practice, the Giants have gotten healthier, perhaps the most healthy they have been all season, however, some injuries still remain. Each week we will go over the injury report and practice focus players before the game and update the depth chart at that position.
Focus Players:
SS Xavier Mckinney: Mckinney became a superstar earlier in the season and hasn’t really played like it. He plays his zones and makes great tackles, however, he hasn’t had the big turnover that you would expect from a superstar defensive back. This could be an issue with his 86 speed, and hopefully the next upgrade will remedy this.
WR Jalin Hyatt : Hyatt is focused on again this season in order to get him another upgrade. He has been the most consistent receiver and is showing the team why they drafted him in the previous draft. He has been one of the best rookies in the league and is in the top of the voting for ROTY but will most likely not get it due to the rookie running back spam going around the league. Hyatt will look for a speed and catching upgrade as well as a development upgrade to star.
CB Aaron Robinson: Robinson is close to his upgrade, and should have it after this game. He was focused with attribute requests early in the season and will be focused again next season. He and Banks are the future 1-2 at corner for the Giants.
WR Darius Slayton – 3 weeks
The Giants were so close to having their original roster all back for the first time this season, however, Slayoton got hurt with a multi week injury for the second time this season. He was seen as a possible number one receiver for the Giants for the rest of the cycle, however, his injuries have cast doubt on that. Robinson has stepped up well in Slayton’s absence.
MLB Jarrad Davis 70 OVR – 16 weeks IR (Complete MCL Tear)
He was a backup piece and will not be with the Giants next season when he heals from his injury. No change from week 1.
TE Tommy Sweeny 64 OVR – 0 weeks IR (Ruptured Disk)
He was a backup piece and will not be with the Giants next season when he heals from his injury as he will stay on IR. No change from week 1. He will stay on IR for the rest of the season.
C J.C Hassenauer 62 OVR – 11 weeks IR (Torn Tricep)
He was a backup piece and will not be with the Giants next season when he heals from his injury. No change from week 1.
TE Chris Myarick 59 OVR – 6 weeks IR (Broken Hand)
He was a backup piece and will not be with the Giants next season when he heals from his injury. No change from week 1.
