Giants Week 18 Injury Report & Focus Players

After an exciting round of week 17 games, we are in week 18. In simming through the week 18 practice, the Giants are back to being one of the most injured teams in the league. Last week the injury bug hit them hard in the game. Each week we will go over the injury report and practice focus players before the game and update the depth chart at that position.

Focus Players:

CB Deonte Banks: Banks was nowhere near an upgrade but this was his last shot at becoming a superstar this season. He has had a decent rookie season, but that’s not on him as he wasn’t really tested. With Adoree Jackson’s future in doubt with the team, Banks will slot in as the number one corner on the team going into the offseason.

ROLB Kayvon Thibodeaux: Kayvon, like Banks, wanted one last shot at becoming a superstar this season. He didn’t get the upgrade, but has developed nicely this season. He has cemented his worth this season and will look to get that superstar status next season.

LG Joshua Ezeudu: With the Giants lineman dropping like flies this season, Ezeudu is being focused primarily due to his need for playing. Normally you don’t focus on a 69 overall guard who can’t run block but here we are. THe Giants will need to focus on getting their offensive line set next season by either drafting or getting free agents who aren’t injury prone.

LT Andrew Thomas 92 OVR – 2 weeks (Abdominal Tear)

Thomas is just not reliable at all this season. He has had injury concerns in the past but the GIants felt he was behind all that when they gave him that major payday. It hasn’t worked out this season as he has now had 3 mulitweek injuries. He can’t be the tackle of the future if he is always hurt.

RT Andrew Norwell 77 OVR – 4 weeks (Broken Ribs)

Norwell was one of the only offensive lineman who didn’t get hurt all year until last week. WIth Norwell getting hurt, the entire Giants offensive line has missed games this season. The injury bug comes in bunches and for the Giants it has manufacturing in their offensive line and it couldn’t have come at a worse week.

LOLB Azeez Ojulari 80 OVR – 3 weeks (Broken Ribs)

Ojulari was having his best season as a Giant and could have made the pro bowl but that dream has been cut short due to his injury last week in the Rams game. He will be on the last year of his contract next season, so he will be looking to return from this injury and show out in order to get a new contract.

WR Darius Slayton 78 OVR – 1 week (Torn Labrum)

Slayton is slated to come back right in time to enjoy his couch in the offseason. He has been hurt multiple times and his spot on the team is in jeopardy. THe Giants front office is tired of these injuries and will look to replace injury prone players in the offseason.

MLB Jarrad Davis 70 OVR – 14 weeks IR (Complete MCL Tear)

He was a backup piece and will not be with the Giants next season when he heals from his injury. No change from week 1.

TE Tommy Sweeny 64 OVR – 0 weeks IR (Ruptured Disk)

He was a backup piece and will not be with the Giants next season when he heals from his injury as he will stay on IR. No change from week 1. He will stay on IR for the rest of the season.

C J.C Hassenauer 62 OVR – 9 weeks IR (Torn Tricep)

He was a backup piece and will not be with the Giants next season when he heals from his injury. No change from week 1.

TE Chris Myarick 59 OVR – 4 weeks IR (Broken Hand)

He was a backup piece and will not be with the Giants next season when he heals from his injury. No change from week 1.
