FA Recap With Grades… Part 1

p86 Superstar WR Mike Evans: Texans: 2 Years, 18.6M Salary, 19.2M Bonus: B+ they needed a true WR1 and got one despite an expensive salary it’s just a two year deal.
86 Star CB Kendall Fuller: Lions: 1 Year, 8.2M Salary, 8.5M Bonus: A- shoutout Fallen for telling chat he has +2 speed to CBs because that justifies this move as a great deal to get a new CB1, the price is high but just one year.
86 X-Factor LOLB Danielle Hunter: Bears: 3 Years, 45M Salary, 30M Bonus: C+ Fills a major need as the first XF I’ve seen in FA in my time in PML but 25M a year for a 30 year old is more than questionable.
85 Star CB Chidobe Awuzie: Patriots: 1 Year, 6.1M Salary, 7.6M Bonus: B they don’t really need him with Speed and Gonzalez being studs entering their sophomore year but depth didn’t hurt anybody, especially a 1 year deal.
85 Normal MLB Bobby Wagner: Patriots: 1 Year, 4.8M Salary, 5.9M Bonus: B+ I love 1 year deals, spend that money or lose it. Another quality starter and veteran.
82 Superstar FS Xavier McKinney: Panthers: 3 Years, 12.3M Salary, 15.6M Bonus: B+ The Panthers secondary is becoming a problem because they have speed at CB to make up for McKinney. My knock here is give him that 4th year lock him down for the cycle.
82 Normal P Tommy Townsend: Jets: 5 Years, 10M Salary, 6.5M Bonus: C special teams is important but wait for the low ball rounds always. Pay a punter for cheap or if you have competition go to this price.
82 Star LE Khalil Mack: Falcons: 2 Years, 12M Salary, 11.4M Bonus: B- I like Mack as a great player who can still impact games but Madden is saying you had full motivations Nef, limit this to 1 year.
82 Star HB Cam Akers: Colts: 2 Years, 8M Salary, 4M Bonus: D RBs are a dime a dozen and you have JT making big money ahead of him. You have Evan Hull a young guy capable of being RB2 for 25% of the price.
81 Star DT Michael Pierce: Chiefs: 1 Year, 7M Salary, 7.1M Bonus: B an expensive contract but a 1 year deal is a 1 year deal for the guy to replace Chris Jones while KC finds their new anchor in the middle. Could be better but could be worse.
81 Star LE Justin “Mama Duke” Madubuike: Texans: 4 Years, 18.4M Salary, 40.4M Bonus: B+ A HEFTY bonus but I see what Ke sees, a quality defensive lineman that can be a superstar sometime this season, especially in Houston’s scheme.
79 Star DT Teair Tart: Titans: 2 Years, 9.6M Salary, 12.8M Bonus: B the contract is a bit large but I like the 2 year deal and it’s a big position of need for the Titans. Tart is a good player who can make an impact.
79 Normal LT Taylor Lewan: Titans: 1 Year, 6.5M Salary, 8.5M Bonus: A- a nice 1 year deal that’s expensive but brings Lewan back to protect Levis and boost this team closer to the playoffs.
79 Normal CB Michael Davis: Falcons: 1 Year, 2.5M Salary, 2.4M Bonus: B+ A great Okudah replacement at a reasonable cost for a 1 year deal. I would have preferred the Falcons go after a younger guy though.
79 Star SS Grant Delpit: Rams: 5 Years, 17.5M Salary, 23.5M Bonus: A 6’3 sub LB for the cycle for the super bowl champs, scary sight for the NFC West and NFC as a whole 8M a year isn’t bad at all either since he’s 25 star and will progress.
79 Star WR Donovan Peoples-Jones: Browns: 4 Years, 19.6M Salary, 13.2M Bonus: B+ another 8M a year contract for a 79 star who’s 25 years old, KMFO may make this a scary receiver in his offense.
79 Star CB Bryce Hall: Browns: 3 Years, 9.6M Salary, 9.3M Bonus: C- The contract is very nice but this is why I gave Fallen a shoutout earlier, Hall has 88 speed and we have no idea if KMFO has a speed boost for CBs. this guy is getting torched even with his tall build and good attributes.
78 Normal C Isaiah Wynn: Rams: 5 Years, 42.5M Salary, 31M Bonus: D+ uhhh offensive lineman don’t regress much so despite being 28 he may last for the cycle but it’s an expensive contract for a not very important position (in madden) with no huge upside.
78 Star LE Bryce Huff: Vikings: 3 Years, 12.9M Salary, 15.9M Bonus: B I like Huff as a Hunter replacement but the contract isn’t small if that was a big reason to not tag Hunter.
77 Normal DT A’Shawn Robinson: Buccaneers: 1 Year, 3.2M Salary, 3.8M Bonus: C+ average player, average contract I don’t see upside or downside he’s just a high end depth guy.
77 Normal DT Greg Gaines: Falcons: 1 Year, 3.9M Salary, 5.9M Bonus: C+ retweet what I just said, depth is always good not hating but not a needle mover.
77 Normal RG Jon Runyan: Bengals: 5 Years, 17.5M Salary, 21M Bonus: B+ a better version of what the Rams got, wayyy cheaper, just as good, and one year younger.
77 Normal LOLB Sione Takitaki: Eagles: 2 Years, 6.4M Salary, 6.4M Bonus: A I love this deal, it’s a very reasonable contract for a great LB3 or even 2 if he needs to be. Only upside here.
75 Normal MLB Willie G**: Cardinals: 5 Years, 16.5M Salary, 22.5M Bonus: A- 7.5M a year for a fast, young, good off ball LB looks good to me but Matigy had some choice words saying he plays like dookie.
76 Normal WR KJ Hamler: Bills: 2 Years, 4.8M Salary, 3.4M Bonus: A- a cheap contract for a short but speedy WR who can help in case of injury or in spread sets I like it all around. My knock is that he’s 25 so give him the 4 years and lock him down. Shout out for being sim though, Hamler doesn’t deserve a 4 year deal.
76 Normal LG Jonah Williams: Panthers: 5 Years, 29M Salary, 21M Bonus: B- 10M a year for an OL with 85 strength isn’t great but he’s only 26 and the Panthers don’t have the draft capital to fill this position via the draft so I understand it.
75 Star LT Dalton Risner: Chiefs: 1 Year, 2.9M Salary, 3.4M Bonus: B+ a good 1 year deal to protect Patty Mahomes and keep KC a powerhouse. LT is an essential position, though, they need a fix for the cycle not just one year.
74 Normal LG David Edwards: Bengals: 5 Years, 11M Salary, 11M Bonus: B- This would be an A+ if he wasn’t 83 strength, I love the contract and filling a OL position for the cycle but the Browns, Steelers, and Ravens have defensive lineman that may eat him alive.
73 Normal LOLB Kwon Alexander: Chiefs: 2 Years, 3.8M Salary, 3.2M Bonus: B the contract is fine but I’d prefer a one year overpay than a two year more reasonable contract here. His job is to replace Willie G**, so it’s a W if he plays better than G** did.
73 Normal SS Jonathan Abram: Buccaneers: 4 Years, 10.8M Salary, 4.8M Bonus: A+ as Tampa gets a 92 speed sub LB that should last the whole cycle maybe just needing a small amount of AR if he takes a regression hit after season 3 and 4. The Saints put AR into him to make him eligible to drive his price up but the Bucs got a steal with no other bids. Saints get an honorary F for this one.
73 Normal DT Derrick Nnadi: Raiders: 2 Years, 4M Salary, 5M Bonus: B+ a very solid depth piece at a reasonable price, one of those low upside but low downside deals which I encourage.
72 Normal K Joey Slye: Jets: 2 Years, 3M Salary, 1M Bonus: A+ this one is much much better than the punter deal. 98 kickpower for 2M a year is worth it 100%. Good job greeny
72 Normal RE Da’Shawn Hand: Steelers: 1 Year, 2.2M Salary, 1.7M Bonus: A- I love cheap 1 year depth deals and that is exactly what Hand is. He’s just 28 though so I lowkey wish he got more than 1 year.
71 Normal RE Julian Okwara: Chargers: 1 Year, 1.5M Salary, 1.5M Bonus: A- retweet what I just said lmaoo but he’s even younger at 26. Lock these guys down and build them into elite backups and depth pieces.
71 Normal DT Javon Kinlaw: Broncos: 4 Years, 8M Salary, 12M Bonus: A+ Someone is reading my mind, Kinlaw is a stud IRL and DK gonna have to up the content to get him to where I think he should be but this is a cheap deal with HIGH upside for the cycle.
71 Normal LOLB Jabril Cox: Chargers: 3 Years, 4.5M Salary, 3.3M Bonus: A- much better codes, a 26 year old 88 speed linebacker is a great get and at that cheap, beautiful. Give him that fourth year, though, make this man a staple in the chargers LB room.
71 Normal WR Danny Gray: Giants: 1 Year, 1.7M Salary, 1.1M Bonus: B+ very burn like to get Gray and who am I to judge? 95 speed and 6 feet tall at 25 years old, I hope this 1 year deal is to just get those motivations up and re-sign him for cheaper for the cycle as a Hyatt backup.
70 Normal FS Jaquiski Tartt: Browns: 2 Years, 4.4M Salary, 2.4M Bonus: C+ he can be sub LB eligible but he isn’t yet so for now this gets a C+ as all I see is a low overall 32 year old with 88 speed getting 2 years instead of 1.
70 Normal LOLB Blake Cashman: Bills: 2 Years, 3.8M Salary, 2M Bonus: B a good 2 year deal for an 87 speed LB but there are better LBs for depth or LB3 with slightly less speed I’d like to see get signed over Cashman. Not bad at all but could have been much better.
70 Normal TE Albert Okwuegbunam: Jets: 5 Years, 10M Salary, 15M Bonus: B+ my first thought was despite the contract being solid the Jets should have found a better TE for Caleb but after looking at the FA tight ends I like this a whole lot more, he’s the best all around FA TE when you consider speed, size, and age so I think this was the right move to get a potential starter for a weak Jets TE room.
67 Normal ROLB Khaleke Hudson: Eagles: 1 Year, 1.4M Salary, 700k Bonus: B contract is very solid and he’s a good depth piece at 26 just doesn’t really move the needle in any way, especially on the Eaglesp
