Greeny made a mistake
Reality or Overreaction: Overreaction
A lot of people have been critical of Greeny’s
big off season move that included Sauce being sent for Caleb Williams (Pick
1.1). Sauce is 100% the best corner in the game with great abilities there’s no
denying that, however QB is the most important position in all of football.
People wanna use Cook and Spdot as examples… but why? Greeny is ranked usually
between 15-20 in the coach rankings, and Spdot/Cook are usually top 10. Maybe
Spdot and Cook don’t need elite QBs to compete, but that’s what makes them so
great. Greeny might NEED a QB like Caleb to close the gap on Dot or Cook.
Another point people make is: “Greeny is a runner”… exactly so why not go get
a QB who could make a huge impact in the run game with options? I can see both
sides of the argument though, I’m not sure if Greeny will get the most out of
Caleb and he could probably have built another low overall QB with the AR he
does, but at the same time he can also find a 6’2+ CB with 92+ speed and AR
them (they won’t have the abilities of course). Even though Caleb didn’t have a
great first game, he made a play not many QBs can make… he rolled right and
while on the run with 2 defenders in his face he threw across the middle of the
field to Dalvin for a huge gain. I don’t think we can say it’s a mistake yet,
let’s see how the cycle plays out.
HD will win NFC E
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
The Eagles ended the season with some big wins
(Z, Drama, and Que) and he had very close games with Matigy, Drama (the first
game), and CEO. Looking at his schedule this season, he has a LOT of winnable
games. I could see him going 10-7 or 9-8 which could be enough to win the
division. Drama has a tendency (since I’ve been in PML) of being a one season
wonder, and he has a very tough start to the season while HD has an easy one. I
for one want to see playoff HD and want him to meet expectations with this
Eagles roster. Now he’s doing AR and in week 1 he played out of his mind. If he
can carry the momentum and start off hot, he may make the playoffs for the first
time since I have been here.

Falcons won’t make the playoffs
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
After starting the season off 0-1 with a close
loss to the revamped Denver Broncos, I feel like this team doesn’t have too
much momentum, but with the commanders and Panthers coming up they should get
some confidence boosts to go into a huge week 4 matchup vs the Bucs. I have
them losing that game and being 2-2 after, then you beat burn and have another
big matchup vs HD, I feel this is kinda a coin flip but winning this game to go
4-2 will be huge. If not ur 3-3 with the chiefs up next and after the week 8
panthers game falcons might be .500 once again while staring down at their next
9 games of straight playoff caliber users. Nef has never done great at winning
the games he is supposed to and he will need to this szn. And I also believe
the Bucs& saints winning 10+ games.
PML skill gap has increased
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
We saw alot of the good pml users who
struggled season one go off week 1. Vikings, bucs, raiders, broncos all 4 showed
out week 1 and 3 coming away with dominating victories. And I think this is
just a result of what happens when good users get their guys. Look at the bucs
for example, They lost 4 ability players i believe and just played their best
football of the cycle vs the highest overall team in the league because he went
out and got demons that fit what he wanna do. Vikings for example literally put
together their best passing performance of the cycle with one week of Joe
Milton. Raiders got a new QB in town and are more willing to play their winning
style of having a 50/50 run pass split. So after a season of new faces in
playoff contention, I think we will see things start to go back to what we
expected

The Eagles will be an NFC contender
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
This is the season. It will be the time that
HD rises to the occasion and shuts people up. He has a dominant team and all he
needs to do is figure out a defense. It is harder than ever to play defense
this madden, but if he just uses his pieces to his advantage he can cause
mayhem. He was a top 5 offense in nearly all categories last season so there is
no problem for him to put up points. His division has favorable matchups for
him except possibly the Giants who I can see giving him problems. Other than
that, he should be a contender to win the division and getting a playoff spot.
The Jets have a lot of pressure on them to
compete in the AFC
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
The Jets made a beautiful move to get Caleb
Williams who was by far the best rookie QB in the draft. Aaron Rodgers
regressed and they basically got a younger version of him. However, they lost
their best player in order to acquire Caleb….they traded Sauce Gardner. This
move is questionable to many people, but if you believe in a QB that much that
is what it will take. I feel like he should have traded for anyone else except
Sauce, Wilson and Quinnen Williams but it was clear it would take one of those
guys in order for him to get the first overall pick. When you trade your best
player for a QB that can play for the whole cycle that puts some pressure on
you. Their team is built to win now with Dalvin Cook in the backfield. It will
be interesting to see what happens in the AFC East.

Nef has arrived into the top half of PML
users
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
For a cycle and a half, I have always, and
usually playfully, given Nef slack about his talent level in the league
compared to where he placed himself in his own eyes. I’ve always considered him
‘one of us’, meaning in the bottom 25 percentile of the league, where
historically, he usually sat with people like myself, HD, Drama, etc. He was
never feared by the top guys, or looked at as any type of playoff contender.
At the end of last season, he had some huge wins down the stretch that almost
put the Falcons into the playoffs on what would have been nothing short of a
miracle if you looked at the way things were going in the first quarter of the
season in Atlanta. While watching the Falcons latest game vs the Broncos, I
started to have a slight realization. While down I believe 3 scores, he kept
his head in the game and stuck to the scheme, eventually almost pulling out a
miraculous win if Ridder didn’t sell on a wide open throw. But I say that to
say this this, maybe Nef is who he believes he is, and it is probably time for
PML to accept that. I will not say the words Super Bowl, and in fairness, we
may never, but for a player of his caliber, I don’t think we measure his
success by Super Bowls. We would have to measure it in terms of growth, and
the time he’s put into the growth he has achieved. Great job Nef, you’re a
true inspiration story to all of us who look to climb up from the slums of the
PML basement.
Simming the pre-season is best for PML
Reality or Overreaction: Overreaction
I think a lot of us enjoy the pre-season games
and getting a feel of our rookies, and just the storylines we create whether
its depth chart battles, or pre-season injuries and whatnot. Lately its been a
growing issue of XP spamming to rookies and we are seeing stats and playing
time trends we would wouldn’t normally see in real life NFL preseason games. I
don’t think a few bad apples should spoil the bunch and ruin a part of the
season a lot of us enjoy. What can we do? For one, I think increasing the
injury slider would deter users from overplaying key players or rookies too
long in pre-season. I, for one, lost my starting rookie RB in only the 1st
quarter of the pre-season game for 4 weeks so I felt that. Others too will
lose players and think twice before playing them extended periods of time. I
don’t think stat limits are the answer because too many users play the fine
line without going over. Perhaps a board of 3 members could review certain
users and players and determine if they were overplayed and spammed during the
pre-season and come up with some type of system that way. What about not being
able to touch depth chart during game and just going by the Madden auto subs
which nearly mirror real life football if your pre-game depth charts are set
correctly. Just spitballing here, but something needs to be done because it
creates an unfair advantage to those who don’t spam rookies.
