Patriots Rookie Report Through 2 Weeks

pQB Riley Leonard – Played probably the best half of football out of any quarterback this season, 18/19 256 yards and 3 TD, shame that’s all the football he’s gotten to play so far.

HB Will Shipley – 22 carries, 156 yards, 2 TD. 6 rec, 28 yards, TD. Shipley did not do much week one but broke out in week two with 17 carries for 144 yards. Shipley has yet to break a long run but is consistently getting solid yards behind this offensive line. He has also done his part through the air as well.

WR Tyrone Broden – 6 rec, 113 yards 1 TD. Broden has done mostly short work on RPOs and screens, but broke a big play in week two with an 84 yards touchdown against the Packers. This will likely be the role for Broden until he develops a little more.

TE Bryson Nesbit – 9 rec, 154 yards, 2 TDs. Nesbit did all of his work in the first half of week one before he had 0 catches in week 2. Nesbit has been a big addition as a blocker, and his athleticism has helped him as a receiver.

DT Leonard Taylor – Has not shown up in the stat sheet yet but so far the run defense is much better than last year, especially considering the two teams we have played have strong running games.

DT – Kris Jenkins – 1.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble, Jenkins is still behind as a run defender but has made an impact as a pass rusher. If Jenkins continues to grow in run defense which he has the tools to do he could be a great pairing inside with Leonard Taylor

DE – Barryn Sorrell – 4 tackles, no sacks yet but I know Sorrell has some TFL, mymadden just doesn’t show it. Sorrell has been solid in the run game and should start picking up steam with his pass rush soon enough.

RT Xavier Truss, LE Aaron Lewis, haven’t played yet, and FB Walker Parks has no stats. p
