PML Pick Ems’ is going to be a weekly segment featuring Greeny, Arod, Cammy, Burn, and I where we predict the winners for every PML game. We will also have excerpts each week from each of us, but these excerpts will feature different topics each week. This week we are focusing on each matchup and discussing around the league in the PML.
Week 2 Matchups Recap –
We had a few upsets this week, but none bigger than the CPU Jaguars who knocked off the Denver Broncos. Also, after a rough first week, Deebo outplayed Dlloyd and defeated the Titans and KingMike continues his impressive run defeating the Chargers and has proven that he is a force to be reckoned with this season aftering making additions to his team that suit his playstyle. Cammy leads our pickers through two weeks, can he capitalize this week and stay in the lead?
Greeny –
Miami 28 vs Buffalo 45
The Josh Allen express is a crazy train. His highs are some of the highest and his lows some of the lowest ( just like irl). He is amongst the league leaders in pass yards but also interceptions. This game I foresee 375 pass yards, 4 tds and zero ints. For Miami if they allow that they won’t be able to keep up. Ahane has a great game going for 150 but it’s not enough.
Tennessee 21 vs Green Bay 42
GreenBay coming off a tough week two loss will be gunning for a quick bounceback. They get it here while Jordan Love throws for 300+ and rushes for 40 more. The Titans after a strong season one have gotten off to a slow start and unfortunately it continues here.
Jacksonville 17 vs Houston 28
This is a tough game to call with Bandit being cpu for the first two weeks. I’m assuming he plays this week but might be rusty after not touching the sticks for a while. The Texans defense leads them to victory but the offense won’t be a slouch. Expect to see 175 5 on the ground.
Burn –
Washington 17 Vs 31 Philadelphia
Both of these teams had drastic changes from week 1 to week 2. The Commanders got demolished week 1 by a rookie quarterback. They couldn’t do anything on offense, while letting Milton throw all over them. In week 2, they shocked the world by beating one of the best rosters in the league. The Falcons contain some of the best superstars in the league and the Commanders went in there and not only got the win but injured a few players as well.
The Eagles had an impressive defensive effort in week one and week two but the offensive firepower we came to see last season wasn’t there in week 2. Can the defense continue playing well? Will the offense get it in gear?
I think the Eagles get both sides of the football in gear and get a big division win in week 3.
Atlanta 14 Vs Carolina 21
Losing to one of the worst rated coaches in the last cycle, while getting some major stars hurt, combined with their week 1 loss, was the worst thing that could have happened to the Falcons to start the season. Now they have to go against a motivated Panthers team, which could lead to an upset, and drop the win now Falcons to 0-3.
The Panthers didn’t look good in week 1, but they came out and played their hearts out week 2, getting a close win over the Ravens. That’s not saying much as the Ravens had the first overall pick in the draft, but it is a good start. They now have an opportunity to kick their most hated rival where it hurts. They aren’t going to want to miss this opportunity.
The Panthers are going to win this game, and hurt another Falcons player. I am calling it now.
San Francisco 27 Vs Arizona 24
The Niners are reeling. I have seen the talk around the town that said the Niners feel that their season is over. No one’s season is over in week 2 but it could be a daunting task to get over 0-3 to start the season.
The Cards could easily be 2-0, or they could be 0-2. They have been in one score games to start the season. They are playing much better this season compared to last season and I think that they will continue to keep games close.
The Niners wont allow themselves to go 0-3 as they know that will be almost impossible to come back from in their division. Niners win in a close one.
AROD –
Tampa Bay 38 vs Cincinnati 41
Upset alert of the week has the Bengals pulling out the victory at home against the Buccaneers. I love love love how Baker Mayfield is slinging the rock so far this cycle, but there is a fella named Joe Burrow who plays for Cincy that will carve apart the Tampa Bay defense this week in his coming out party for the season. If I am looking to lay some content points down this week, definitely take a look at the Bengals (7x your money) or at the very least the large spread they are getting at home. Bengals get into the win column week 3 against Cammy and the Bucs.
Cleveland 51 vs New York Giants 10
Looks like Burn is the lucky winner this week on the schedule. Not where I want to be after coming off a week 2 victory against the Eagles. Nevertheless, Burn will have to put his brave face on and come out prepared to stop a nearly unstoppable passing attack. I don’t think this one remains relatively close as the Browns cruise to 3-0 on the young season.
Detroit 27 Vs Minnesota 28
This is one I am looking forward to watching this week as the 2-0 Lions take on the 1-1 Vikings in a true test for each user as they look to assert themselves into the hierarchy of the NFC North. I got this one being a close game with the Vikings pulling off a late victory, quite even possibly a walk off FG. Joe Milton looks to rebound after a monstrous week 1 game that saw him fall back to earth in the week 2 loss to Arizona. The rookie is raw, but Wimmy seems comfortable with him under center. The Lions are still without Jameson Williams who is halfway through a 4 game suspension due to air yards.
New York Jets 14 vs New England 31
Greeny doesn’t look completely comfortable with Caleb Williams and his style of play just yet. It will take time transitioning to a completely different passer than he is accustomed to playing with. The growing pains are real, and the Jets are experiencing them this year out the gate. Spdot looks to continue rolling after his Super Bowl victory and I don’t see the Jets stopping them this week. Let’s go with the Patriots in this one, and if you’re going to lay some points down, possibly with the spread as well.
Cammy –
Chargers 24 vs Den 28:
Chargers have had a rough time this cycle against the Broncos and now with a weaker team and the Broncos arguably having a bit better of a team I think the Broncos will pull out with a victory. Although keep watch for the Chargers trying to get revenge for the Herbert injury.
Dal 35 Sea 28:
Dallas has been struggling these past two weeks but I think this week their defensive playmakers will be able to rattle the rookie qb in Bo Nic and help lead them to success in a victory over Seattle.
Las Vegas 35 Colts 13:
This Colts offense has just looked super flat to start the season and I don’t think this is the game for them to bounce back. Jayden Daniels is going to lead this team to another victory and continue his amazing rookie season.
Fallen –
Kansas City 42 – Baltimore 17:
I don’t like this matchup at all for Arod. He played a very close game last week, but this one has blowup written all over it. Patrick Mahomes is foaming at the mouth for this opportunity to feast, but Arod has to minimize the turnovers if he wants this one to stay close throughout.
New Orleans 30 – Pittsburgh 14:
JC has had an impressive couple weeks and while Curt isn’t a top tier coach, this game should be close if Curt can control the line of scrimmage and keep JC’s offense off of the field. Superstar Derek Carr is going to light up Pittsburgh’s bottom tier defense.
Los Angeles Rams 35 – Chicago 21 –
I don’t think Jefe is having the season he hoped for, and I think this matchup is going to be too tough for him. Cookie is the reigning PML champion, and he has a knack of making any quarterback stellar and this season is no different.
