Injuries really impact a season
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
It may sound kinda obvious, but past cycles you maybe had one major player go down at a time, it was annoying but you could still save your season. This cycle is a whole different story, Madden is coming for all your top guys in the same week. We have seen Bijan & Pitts, Herbert & Derwin, and now Chubb & Lance. Depth may be the most important thing this cycle. Top heavy teams may fail if they don’t have luck/health on their side.
Cammy is going to make the playoffs for the rest of the cycle
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
Cammy last year had a down year compared to what we got from him with the Bengals, mostly due to Baker’s health. I think his offseason was fantastic. He cleared a lot of cap, had great draft, and now is playing at a high level. If Baker goes down I believe he can ball out with DJ U. He drafted physical demons he can AR and turn into beasts for the rest of the cycle. So it’s only up from here which I believe means playoffs every year for the rest of the cycle.

Defenses are struggling more this cycle than ever before.
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
The main users that are known for having stout defenses are having lots of trouble this cycle. I feel like a lot of guys are having success moving the ball and taking plays from others on film. I want to give a huge shout out to Keraun for having a top 5 defense with a team that had no business competing year 1. Users you may not have predicted to be shutting down offenses are actually doing it this season. Let’s see if these top defenses from season 1 can remain consistent in season 2.
The Cardinals, Raiders, and Broncos may make the playoffs
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
The guys who everyone accused of “tanking” or not trying to win games all can potentially make the playoffs this season. We all know these guys are top users but like I said it is harder to overcome bad QB play more than ever before. These guys had to deal with TERRIBLE QB play week to week. I mean I got Jordan Love missing TDs every single game, I cannot imagine what these guys QBs were doing. Let’s also keep in mind Kyler Murray was out for season 1 (I believe). Regardless if you think they tanked or not (I think they did not), they are in better positions to compete now than they were in season 1. So I can see these 3 making the playoffs.

Baker Mayfield is an MVP candidate this season
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
Possibly the most exciting offense in PML right now, the Baker Mayfield led Buccaneers are putting up points like its nobody's business. At the start of the cycle, Mayfield seemed destined to be a bridge quarterback as the Buccaneers seemed primed to select his replacement at the draft. Not only is he starting another season in Tampa Bay, but he has the Bucs riding high at 2-1, and he boasts a 11 touchdown to 2 interception ratio with a 140.8 quarterback rating. Not too shabby for a 29 year old normal dev 73 overall quarterback. Don’t look now, but not only does Mayfield have the Bucs playing competitive football, but his name has certainly entered the early conversations for MVP candidates in the league right now. Would love to see this play out to reality!
The 49ers have peaked for the cycle
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
Uff, pains me to say it, but it seems the 49ers are officially the odd-man out of the NFC west race. The team I picked to win the season 1 NFC title, they are not sitting at 0-3 and possibly in a situation where they would have to sell off pieces to manage the cap space. We all knew season 1 the 49ers were one of the most complete teams out the gate, and the 49ers showed flashes of a team that could make a run. The thing we also knew was, come season 2, a lot of teams would be taking a step forward, while the 49ers would more than likely remain the same. Not too much content goes into the team, and the roster is filled with contracts, so the time to compete may have come and gone for CEO and the 49ers during season 1 of the cycle.

Ke is a Proven Talent
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
Ke and I have been in many leagues together, and I have always enjoyed our battles. We faced off last season, and although Lance sailed some potential go ahead TDs, you have to respect that he put himself in a position to win that game, and he did just that. He also pointed out that was his first time beating me across all leagues, and I was impressed at how much he has grown. Now this year he had CJ Stroud suspended for 2 games for exceeding CPU limits. Despite losing his starting Quarterback to suspension, you have to admire his grit and determination to still pull out wins with his backup Max Duggan, also known as Duggy Fresh. In 2 games, Duggy Fresh has come in and thrown for 5 TDs, 0 INTs, 615 yards. This, combined with a completion percentage of 72.7% and a passer rating of 126.8, is something you have to admire. Houston, we have no problems.

Drama is Cooked
Reality or overreaction: Overreaction
Although Drama has started off the season with an 0-3 record after dropping his most recent game to Z, he still could very likely win the division. We know that Drama was able to jump out to a hot start last year, and he very well could catch fire down the stretch playing a couple division mates. He has a super stacked roster, that I believe is the highest rated overall wise. He himself said that he is thankful for having such a terrible division, so let’s see if he is really “standing on business” like he stated he is. Only time will tell this season.
