PML Pick Ems’ is going to be a weekly segment featuring Greeny, Arod, Cammy, Burn, and I where we predict the winners for every PML game. We will also have excerpts each week from each of us, but these excerpts will feature different topics each week. This week we are focusing on each matchup and discussing around the league in the PML.
Week 3 Matchups Recap –
CB had an impressive victory over the Raiders and knocked off a few coaches in knockout. Codes proved that despite some youth on his team, he still has the tenacity to compete in his division with a key victory over the Broncos, and heading into week 4, Greeny and Fallen are tied at 35-13. So far, it’s anyone’s guess who will come out on top.
Greeny –
DET 42 VS JAX 45
Shootout alert. I think it will be one of the best games of the week. Fallen has to play smart with Gibbs as he’s approaching usage rates that may be hard to bring down and ultimately I think that hurts him here. Bandit can not afford another loss early if they hope to remain in the afc south race and i think that motivates him to get up and treat this like a playoff game.
GB 38 VS DAL 17
Greenbay faces off against an 0-3 Cowboys team that is currently reeling and has no momentum. Hype is one of the better coaches in the league and heading into a game vs him with no momentum and morale against you is a death sentence. Packers also get star running back Aaron Jones back and I can see him getting 25+ touches and sealing this game away.
HOU 35 VS CHI 31
This will be Jefe first game of the season from Brazil. It remains to be seen how that impacts his play. Ke has been on a roll with backup a Qb and gets his SS Qb back this week. All things considered this game might be a blowout for Ke but i have it close as both coaches use clock well. The score may not show the full story here.
Burn –
CAR 17 VS NO 35
These teams just played and it was a blowout win for the Saints. The Saints are looking great this season. They are coming into this game undefeated and know that they have the upper hand given how the last game resulted.
The Panthers got their first win versus the Ravens, and had momentum versus a fragile and broken Falcons team. THey couldn’t take advantage of the Falcon injuries and lost.
The Panthers will be more competitive in the game, however, it will still be another blowout win for the Saints.
PHI 27 VS SF 30
The Eagles are coming into this game as a favorite. Who would’ve thought a team that won only 6 games with the best roster in the league last season, would be a favorite versus a team that went to the playoffs?
The Niners are reeling after three straight losses to all of their divisional opponents. They need a pick me up game and this week is the perfect case. The Eagles schedule has been pretty light, and they already lost their test game versus an up and coming Giants team.
I think the Niners will get it going this week and take the win in a close one.
LAC 41 VS BAL 10
Baltimore is back right where they were last year. The Ravens even after getting one of the best corners in the league are just struggling, You have everything you can ever want on your roster, especially on the offense. You have to find a way to win the games otherwise you’ll be in the same boat as last season.
The Chargers roster is worse than last season, however, the same winning ways remain. They just got a big win over the Broncos and will be looking to continue that streak this week.
The Chargers are going to win big. If Lamar can be a factor then maybe this game stays close, but chances are it doesn’t.
AROD –
LV 17 VS KC 24
Raiders seemed primed to turn the corner on the cycle, then drop a game where they were heavy favorites to the Colts. Jayden Daniels didn’t look comfortable under center, and I expect the Kansas City defense to give an even harder time this week. This will be the first true test of the season for Kansas City as they steam rolled through the bottom 3 users in the AFC North. Should be a good test for both teams as to where they stand early in the season. As of now, I have to go with the Chiefs in a rather close one.
ATL 17 VS TB 44
With Bijan and London sidelined for an extended period of time, I find it difficult to see the Falcons keeping up with the high scoring attack of the Buccaneers. Ridder will be forced to make a lot of plays and the Buccaneers defense could feast this game with turnovers. Until the two star players on the Falcons offense return, I don’t have much faith in the offense. Give me the Bucs in this one and Cammy keeps rolling.
CIN 17 VS WAS 7
Both users are struggling out the gate, and this could serve as a pick-me-up for one of these coaches. The Commanders are at a clear disadvantage with the two rosters and will find it difficult to stop Burrow, Chase, Higgins and company when it matters most. In a low scoring game, look for the Bengals to execute in the red zone and come away with their first victory of the season.
Cammy –
NYG 28 Pit 24
I think the Giants will be able to bounce back after a horrific loss last week to the Browns. If the Giants can hold the steelers passing game this will be a good redemption game for them. If they can’t stop the Steelers passing game this will be a rough week.
Ten 31 Ind 17
Although the Colts have an impressive win last week and the Titans have yet to win a game I believe this is a bounce back game for the Titans and will help jump start their momentum for the rest of the season. If the titans can force the Colts to make errors in the passing game which they are known to do they should be able to achieve victory
Ari 34 Sea 31
I picked the Cards last time and I’m going to stand on my pick again this time. I think the Seahawks are vulnerable in the passing game right now with rookie bo nix and I believe the Cardinals are the right team to capitalize on that.
Den 28 Cle 24
We have yet to see what Cleveland is truly made of yet with them not facing any real top teams yet. I think this week the Broncos are going to shock the league and the Browns and upset the Browns. Even with the Chubb injury i believe the Broncos have a shot at winning this game
Fallen –
BUF 28 VS NYJ 20 –
Both of these teams are coming off of wins last week, but I think the Jets aren’t there yet on offense. Caleb Williams is struggling to find an identity in the Jet’s offense and despite some turnover problems for Josh Allen this season, he is the better quarterback in this game, and he’s going to prove it.
MIN 21 VS LAR 38 –
This isn’t a good matchup for Wimmy. Cookieboy is 3-0 and is looking like the favourite in the NFC West. Joe Milton has had a solid game, but the offense isn’t there just yet for the Vikings. Minnesota can still make this game interesting, but I don’t think they have the firepower on defense to make enough stops this game.
NE 35 VS MIA 14 –
Miami’s only victory this season is against the 0-3 Titans. They missed the off-season and I think that’s a continuation into this season. Tua has been notified that his coaching staff isn’t happy with his performance. Miami has to find their signal caller if they want to compete in this division.
