Can you talk about what it’s like to prepare to go against a player like Lamar Jackson?
No clue… we had to deal with Marcus Mariotta playing like he was back in Oregon. It was a tough game and we seem to be getting everyone's best punch. The Ravens looked really good out there and when Lamar comes back I expect this team to really start to go even further. Great game plan even with their leader out due to injury.
What is the status of David Ojabo and when is he set to return?
That's right, David Ojabo is finally making his comeback, and it couldn't have come at a better time for us. His absence was felt hard – you can line it up, four weeks without him, four losses. That speaks volumes about the impact he has on our defensive line.
Getting a playmaker like him back on the field is a big deal, especially for a squad like ours that's really working to find its footing in terms of talent. His presence elevates our defensive play, no doubt about it. The guy's a difference-maker, and you could see the gap left when he was out.
This bye week? It's like it was timed perfectly. It's given us that extra bit of time to get him back in the mix, get the team recalibrated, and focus on turning this ship around. We're looking forward to stepping back on that field with Ojabo in the lineup and seeing if we can start flipping those L's into W's. It's a fresh start, and with him back, we're aiming to make the most of it.
Are you seeing the speed of the game starting to slow down for some of the rookies?
So, about the rookies, and in particular Jayden Daniels — they ain’t quite there yet with the game slowing down for them. It’s all part of the rookie grind, you know? Jumping into the NFL is like jumping into the deep end. Everything’s faster, more complex.
But keep an eye on Jayden. That kid's got something special. Once he starts feeling more at home in the game, getting that rhythm down, he's gonna light it up. Right now, it’s all about getting him those reps, letting him soak in the playbook, and getting comfortable with the speed of everything.
It’s only a matter of time before he and the other rookies start to click, start to really get into their groove. When that happens, watch out. We're expecting big things from Jayden down the line. He’s got the potential to really shake things up for us. Just needs a bit more time to get there.
