Transcript: Commanders Head Coach Press Conference

How much of a problem is Jordan Davis on the defensive line?

He's arguably the best defensive-tackle in the league. You have to double team him, h*** even triple team him at times and pray to be successful. You can't run towards him, you have to run away from him. Even then he somehow finds himself in your backfield. He's one of the best players in the league, respect to him.

How do you see the competition level in the NFC East currently?

After a rough season overall last year from the whole division, we're hoping for a step forward as a group. The NFC East is better than what it was last year, barely getting any wins and it was an ugly division for the whole year. But again, looking into the division itself – it was a dog fight last year, an ugly one but still. This year the same thing, it looks like some teams are off to a slow start but I'm sure it'll be a dog fight between all the teams come the end of the season.

Can you speak to the overall team health?

We're in a tough spot, with a lot of starters down on both sides of the ball. It's clearly affected our record, but we have to be better and next man up mentality. We're expecting some guys back soon, so we'll see how that goes.
