What were the keys to the team’s victory this week?
After our first drive, we quickly realized getting the ball out of Nico’s hand quickly was imperative. So, we focused on the quick, short passing attack. RPOs and underneath drags became a focus for the game.
Can you talk about the development of Nico Iamaleava so far?
Nico has developed nicely so far. He is having a successful rookie season, but he’s gambled on a few throws and that’s turned into interceptions. All in all, Nico needs to continue getting the ball out quickly for his development to increase.
The defense is playing really well right now. What do you think are biggest contributing factors to that?
Right now, we have the best passing defense in the league. That’s attributed to our defensive backs and their aggressive style of play. We are middle of the pack in our run defense though, so there’s room for improvement.
