Many rank your offensive line as one of the best in the league. How important is having a great offensive line?
I don't know about that for our line, but we have the tools, we just don't always execute as a unit which is all that matters. A great offensive line is extremely important in this league to win short yardage, to protect your quarterback, to control the game. We're working on being better and being more consistent to let our offense be better.
When the schedules were released this past offseason, analysts said you had one of the easier schedules they've seen. Do you see it that way as well?
Definitely not, this league has top tier parity and I truly believe in any given Sunday. I think the worst team is capable of beating the best team and if you get greedy, it will not end well. At the end of the day only one thing matters and that's wins. If we can take advantage of matchups and be the better team on any given Sunday, I know we can go far.
The majority of your team is under the age of 26. Is that a conscious effort to have such a young team?
Absolutely. This league moves fast and continuity is the best way to make consistent improvements and be a contender for an extended time. We want to have a core we can retain for five or more years and not be a rotating carousel of scrapping by.
Can you speak to the overall team health?
The bye week helped us get somewhat back to health and in a week or two we'll be at 100% besides Chris Rumph who's out all season. The starters on the offensive line will be back, K'Lavon Chaisson will be back to be a rotational edge piece. We have to place a priority in practice as we've had 3 practice injuries this season already. Play hard, practice hard, but player safety is the most important thing.
Were there any standout performances or key moments in the game against the Broncos?
Hassan Haskins was great against such a strong Broncos defense. He racked up almmpst 175 yards from scrimmage along with a 58 yard touchdown.
