How does the loss this week prepare you for the next game?
This was a horribly played loss. Probably our worst of the season, we've done a good job keeping games close but the past two weeks against the Patriots and Chargers, this week. We've looked like a college team against an NFL team. H***, I'm pretty confident a college team could beat us right now. I don't want to sound that negative but it's the truth. We'll be spending extra time in the training sessions to do better and extra time watching film.
Can you talk about what it’s like to prepare to go against a player like Dexter Lawrence II?
Dexter Lawrence is one of, if not the best defensive tackles in the game. He can single handedly control the outcome of a game and you have to put two, sometimes.. three. Guys on him to get time in the pocket or create running lanes. It's rare you ever see him get shut down, so it's more of a question of 'bend don't break' with him. Try to slow him down more than anything.
What kind of player do you see when you look at Justin Herbert?
One of the best quarterbacks in the game. Reads the field so easily, it's like he doesn't have a defense in-front of him or pressure in his face in a matter of seconds. If the pass isn't there, he does a great job of getting rid of it or even using his feet to make a player. Similar to Dexter Lawrence, like mentioned earlier.. simply, a game changer. The next generation of quarterbacks look up to players like Justin.
