What makes Isiah Pacheco so good?
Isiah Pacheco is one of those running backs who’s just a nightmare to defend. He’s got that angry running style—you know, the kind where every carry looks like it’s personal for him. He’s not the type of guy who’s going to go down on first contact. He keeps his legs churning and fights for every yard. I think what really makes him stand out is his unique running style. He’s fast, but he’s also physical. He’s not afraid to lower his shoulder and take on a linebacker, but at the same time, if you give him any space, he’s got the speed to break one loose. You have to be on your game defensively because if you let up for even a second, he’s going to make you pay for it. There’s a reason why he’s been so effective in their offense.
Your opponent this week is one of the highest scoring teams in the league. Your defense ranks near the bottom in points given up. How are you planning to attack this game?
Yeah, it’s no secret that they’re one of the top offenses in the league, and we’ve had our struggles on defense at times. But that’s the beauty of this game—you get a new chance every week to prove yourself. For us, it’s about playing disciplined football. We’re not going to get into a shootout mindset; that’s not what we want. Instead, we’ve got to focus on making them earn every yard. We know they’re going to get their plays, but if we can limit the explosive ones and make them work for it, we give ourselves a better chance.
It’s going to take a full-team effort. Our pass rush has to get home, our coverage has to stay tight, and we need to force turnovers when those opportunities come. It’s a tough challenge, no doubt, but we’re going to attack it head-on. We’ve got to be physical and aggressive, and most importantly, we can’t let them dictate the pace of the game. The key for us is staying focused and not getting discouraged if they have a big play here and there. We’ve got to keep grinding and give ourselves a shot.
What are your thoughts about the Chiefs just in general as a team?
Ah, the Chiefs… What can you really say about them that hasn’t already been said? They’re like that one kid in school who’s always the teacher’s favorite—winning all the awards, acing all the tests, and somehow never getting detention, even when they probably should. I mean, they’ve been to the top, and they know how to stay there. It’s impressive, even if it makes the rest of us roll our eyes a bit, right?
But seriously, they’re a championship-caliber team year in and year out. Patrick Mahomes is doing things out there that most people wouldn’t even try in a video game, and they’ve got weapons all over the field. It’s not just about the offense, though; their defense can be sneaky good when it counts. They’re well-coached, disciplined, and you have to be at your best to compete with them. You can never underestimate them, no matter what. But yeah, if they could slow down a bit and let the rest of us catch up, that’d be great. Unfortunately, I don’t think that’s going to happen anytime soon.
