Transcript: Chargers Head Coach Press Conference

What does it mean to you or the team to have such a great winning record at home this season?

Feels great to make SoFi into a real home field advantage instead of being a hotspot for opposing fans. We want to build up our Los Angeles fanbase into being THE California team and a team people can get behind. The more we give to the fans, the more they'll give back.

Can you summarize what it was like playing against the Patriots last week?

We fricked up. Our offense started unusually slow by playing overly aggressive downfield and then our defense got worse towards the end of the game for the same reason, overly aggressive. No reason to have a LB on a WR and that's why we lost. The Patriots played well and called a great game, but we were just way too aggressive.

Can you talk about the development of Joe Alt so far?

Offensive linemen are hard to develop so we're happy with Joe's progress. He even has an upgrade in the tank. He's been looking like a franchise RT, I think he's only allowed one sack all season and we've been a top offense.

Can you talk about what it’s like to prepare to go against a player like Maxx Crosby?

The second x in Maxx is for extra scary. We'll be doubling him, running away from him, and doing everything in our scheme to protect ourselves from his game-wrecking ability. We want to keep the Raiders out of the playoffs and the most important and first step is to limit Maxx Crosby.

What is the status of Joey Bosa and when is he set to return?

Tuli Tuipulotu and Klavon Chaisson have been doing solid in his absence but we really hope to get past the wildcard round and see Joey Bosa back on the field this season. He'd be back for the divisional game.
