Houston Texans Offseason Preview

pThe Houston Texans find themselves with a 6-11 record, after a pretty promising start. The Texans played well their first few games, but could not sustain it for a full season. Franchise QB CJ Stroud struggled keeping the ball away from the defense, finishing with 4383 yards, 39 TD, and 46 INT. Joe Mixon had a fantastic season on the ground with 1334 yards and 16 touchdowns, though he did fumble 7 times. Their big 3 at receiver all lived up to their hype, with Stefon Diggs finishing with 1365 yards and 14 TD, Nico Collins with 1166 yards and 9 TD, and Tank Dell with 916 yards and 10 TD. The defensive pass rush was not as good as expected. No players had over 10 sacks despite having 2 highly regarded edge rushers in Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter. Jamal Hill had a breakout season as a coverage LB with 10 INT and 98 tackles.

Offseason Summary:
The Texans main concern this offseason will be trying to bring back Stefon Diggs as long as he doesn’t regress too much. They do not have many important players up for a new contract this offseason. If they retool the offensive line and add some defense they will once again be a top roster in the league. This division is very winnable, but they have to take better care of the ball better next season. Stroud is a franchise QB, and once they put the finishing touches on the roster around him they should be making a division push at the end of next season.p
