Los Angeles Chargers:
The Chargers had a great season running the ball last season, and Hassan Haskins was at the head of that but as a coach you have to want more out of your top back. Right now the best RB on the roster is a 69 overall. There are some solid RB in free agency but this is a chance to get your bell cow back for the cycle. We know the Chargers will establish the run with their strong OL, and now they could add a difference maker behind them.
Washington Commanders:
Jayden Daniels is probably the best rusher on this team, but he is your QB. Brian Robinson is a good short yardage back and Ekeler is still a solid receiver, but now could be the chance to get somebody who can play all three downs. Pairing a top RB with Daniels in the backfield could be a nightmare to gameplan for.
Dallas Cowboys:
Deuce Vaughn is the top back on this roster, but he can not sustain a full season of running the ball. When the Cowboys are at their best is when they are running the ball with a good RB and a good OL. The OL has solid young players now it is time to get that young RB that can put up 1000 yards and lead Dallas back to the playoffs.
New England Patriots:
I don’t expect the Patriots to be a team that rolls out one back for 80% of their plays and has him rack up 1000 yards, but they still need to round out their room that for now only has Antonio Gibson. Gibson can be your receiving back, but they can add a bruiser and big play threat to fill out the RB room in New England.
Minnesota Vikings:
Aaron Jones and Ty Chandler made up a solid duo for the Vikings last season, but Jones is gone and Chandler is aging as well. Chandler could stay for another year or two as the big play threat, but the Vikings will have to add a power back and receiving back to fill out their room as they build a new look offense for season 2.
Tier 2: Eh why not?
Cincinnati Bengals:
I think that Chase Brown can be your franchise RB, but clearly the Bengals do not. The roster is pretty solid so you may be able to spend a luxury pick on RB to fill out the offensive weapons around Joe Burrow.
New York Giants:
Tyrone Tracy had a great season last year, finishing second in rushing yards. The Giants could very well roll with him for the future unless they love one of the RB prospects in the draft. Tracy could be a solid starter for a while, but if you believe a guy is a difference maker, Tracy won’t stop you from drafting him.
Las Vegas Raiders:
The Raiders Traded for Israel Abanikanda last season, and he is still an intriguing prospect. He is the same age as many of the RB in this draft class, and you already know exactly what his ratings are. This is a similar situation to the Giants in that if you love a prospect you take him, otherwise you are fine rolling with Abanikanda.
Los Angeles Rams:
We know Fallen is not going to want to ride with 86 speed Kyren Williams. The issue with drafting a RB as the Rams is that you have so many other issues that need to be filled before RB that it may have to wait one more season.
New Orleans Saints:
Kamara was the focal point of this offense last season. Now he is age 30 and has already started to regress. If the Saints want to play the same way, with your RB getting 300+ touches a season, they will need to find a new 3 down back, because Kamara likely only has one more season left.
I don’t want to include the Panthers on this list but we all know JT is taking a running back in this draft.
