The Eagles re-signed everyone that we wanted to and now are now at the end of the free agency stage. We signed a few agents after missing out on some big ticket names. In free agent 1 we tried to go after Lawrence who had an all green bar interest, however, the Patriots gave him a one year monster contract and we missed out. In free agency round 2, we tried to go after Brandon Stephens, however, the Panthers out bid us for them. Free agency three was where we got our big ticket free agent in Amari Cooper! He had a full bar green interest and we had 20 million cap space burn. This is our official recap of free agency.
LG Brandon Scherff 81 OVR
Signed 2 Year/22 Mill Contract
He was the best offensive lineman that we could afford after the unexpected retirement of Lane Johnson. He isn’t the same guy as Johnson but I will be able to shift DIckerson to tackle and have Scherff inside. He will be able to protect Hurts in the passing game which is much needed.
LT Charles Leno 77 OVR
Signed 1 Year/10.9 Mill Contract
He was brought in as another pass blocking insurance guy because of the retirement of Johnson. He wont start but is a really good backup just in case someone goes down. He will be able to mentor any rookies we bring in the draft. This one year contract will serve us well.
P Ryan StoneHouse 82 OVR
Signed 3 Year/9.6 Mill Contract
This was a surprise pick up in free agency. In free agency three he was just sitting there with no bids. A punter isn’t a highlight player but a 99 kick power one with 90 accuracy could make a difference in the game. The previous punter had only 92 kick power so it was a huge upgrade. He will be our punter for the rest of the cycle.
WR Amari Cooper 88 OVR
Signed 1 Year/22.9 Mill Contract
This was the big ticket player of our free agency. He wasn’t a player that we intended to get but with us striking out with the other big ticket players it was a great pick up. We were fighting four different teams and Cooper decided to come to the Eagles and play in a stacked wide receiving core. This was just a one year contract where he will be in the starting lineup and also mentoring the young guys.
