Eagles Offseason: Draft Class Revisited (DDT)

The DDT has come and gone and the Eagles were blessed with 8 yes 8 star development traits. We drafted 9 players and to hit on almost all of them has to be some kind of PML record. While it is disappointing that we didn’t get any superstars or superstar x factors, this is the next best thing and it will help each player earn more experience and hopefully a dev game. Lets go over the players who received the star development trait.

Round 1-Pick 26: TE Coltson Loveland 76 OVR

Roster Spot: STARTER

Development Trait: STAR

He will still be the starter but I was hoping that he was going to become a superstar. This star development trait will help him progress through the season as it only takes 4000 XP for him  to get an upgrade

Round 2-Pick 26: HB Nicholas Singleton 74 OVR

Roster Spot: SPLIT

Development Trait: STAR

He was another one that I was hoping had a high chance of getting a superstar  trait but he just got star. He will still split carries with Barkley but I will look to increase his playing time in hopes that it could trigger an dev game. He is still the future in Philly.

Round 3-Pick 14: MLB Deontae Lawson 75 OVR

Roster Spot: SPLIT

This was a huge get for Lawson. I wasn’t expecting anything for him and this will now ensure that he progresses at a fantastic rate. With this development trait plus him being focus trained and half padded practices, he should hit 80 overall by midseason.

Round 3-Pick 17: C Jonah Monheim 71 OVR

Roster Spot: Backup

Development Trait: STAR

This doesn’t really affect him much but it is better than nothing. I am sure that he will progress faster because we half pad backup for practice so the star development trait will help him by needing less XP.

Round 3-Pick 26: ROLB Nick Jackson 73 OVR

Roster Spot: Backup

Development Trait: STAR

He will still be a backup but by being able to have him earn XP at an increased rate while being a backup will help with his progression to starter next season. He may even see the field as a starter if for some reason he gets a dev game.

Round 4-Pick 6: LG Dylan Fairchild 71 OVR

Roster Spot: Backup

Development Trait: STAR

Just like with our other rookie lineman, nothing changes initially. This trait will help him progress as a backup and hopefully by season 3 he can become a starter.

Round 4-Pick 26: LOLB David Bailey 73 OVR

Roster Spot: Backup

Development Trait: STAR

I am starting to repeat the same things with these linebackers but that’s what happens when you draft three guys who can play the same way. We will have some financial troubles in season 4 and 5 so having these young players who I can build with STAR development traits will pay dividends for the rest of the cycle.

Round 6-Pick 9: QB DJ Uiagalelei 67 OVR

Roster Spot: Backup

Development Trait: STAR

This was just a random pickup for the heck of it and I hit it big. I now have my starting and backup quarterback locked up for the cycle. The fact that I train backups and it only cost 3000 XP for each of his upgrades means that he could be one of the best backups in the league in no time.
