BEST QB Group: Kansas City Chiefs
Best QB group basically just means best starting QB. Backup QB was essentially no factor in this and I think everyone would agree that Mahomes is the best QB. Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow could have arguments if they still had abilities. For me the QB Rankings are Mahomes then Herbert then everyone else. To me the best backup QB is JJ McCarthy with his blend of speed, throw power, and accuracy.
Worst QB Group: San Francisco 49ers
Noah Fifita really does not have many redeeming qualities as a QB. Yes, he is 20 and will develop quickly, but he is slow with a noodle arm. The Titans and Will Levis could be argued for the worst QB room, but he at least has a good arm, even if he can’t be developed any more.
Best RB Group: Seattle Seahawks
Another position group where the starter takes up 90% of the value in the position, Kenneth Walker is the top RB in the league. He has elite speed, high strength and can play all three downs. Braelon Allen and Zach Charbonnet are solid power backs if Walker goes down or Seattle needs to convert in short yardage. Philadelphia has the best RB duo, but only one plays at a time.
Worst RB Group: Los Angeles Chargers
This was a tough one, Denver, Minnesota, Buffalo, LAC, and Houston all have some pretty rough RB rooms. Typically all of these teams have a young guy that they want to develop, and a solid veteran around 80 overall in case of emergency. LAC was the only team without that veteran to come in if the young guy doesn’t get it done. I expect that this ranking could change by end of season.
Best Receiver/TE Room:
Minnesota Vikings
This room has the top tier talent, with Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and TJ Hockenson. As well as the depth with Jaylin Noel, Stefon Diggs, and Davante Adams. Along with some developmental pieces. There is a reason that Drew Allar is able to control the game the way he does, and it is because there is always someone open.
Worst Receiver/TE room: Houston Texans
It really comes down to 2 teams here, the Texans and the Packers. With the Packers at least their bad players are fast. The Texans really have nothing going. Nico is not the same player he is in real life. Diggs and Dell are gone. Stroud is out of town. The RB room is bad, the OL is bad. Not much to like with this Texans offense.
Best OL: Kansas City Chiefs
The lowest starter on the line is an 84. The only other team with an argument is the Detroit Lions, but their fifth starter is a 74. Really not close. Kansas City has the star power and the depth.
Worst OL: Green Bay Packers
Once again the Packers and Texans fighting for last in a position ranking. The Packers don’t have a starter over 79 OVR and have 3 starters 75 or below. The Texans have a little bit more depth just putting them past the Packers.
