How quickly can you tell if a young player is a football player if he thinks about it because it seems like at the Combine they’re all saying the right thing and it’s the job. How quickly does it take?
I don't know dude. Pick 20 our scouts and team feel confident in Hykeem Williams, he's amazing, 6th in true value. Now it's pick 23 and we feel our scouts must be right and we go jump on Justice Haynes, disappointing, 416th in true value. In conclusion, I'm just guessing.
I want to ask you about the receiver position in general. How have you seen that position evolve in importance over the years and how does having a player like WR Quentin Johnston sort of factor into that perspective?
I believe in it's importance and that's why Quentin just got a major 20M+ a year extension from us, his size and skill is so important to an offenses success. He's a great run blocker as well.
Did you scout Keeshawn Silver before the draft? If so, what stood out about him?
Did not, still don't know that is. If it's a defensive tackle, we didn't scout any, just found Gusta as un UDFA to learn on the practice squad.
