1 season in the books, how the 49ers look to improve next season.

pMy first season as head coach for the 49ers didn’t go the way I expected, I was given a team that needed to improve in a lot of areas but did not have all the money to make it. With all the issues with the organization before me coming here, my first season was one of learning how to compete in this league and developing those that will start for years to come in San Fran. There were many highs and lows throughout the season and it led to the team picking 3rd in the draft.
p
pThe main problem with the team in the previous year was that it was mainly one offensive player on the line that could be trusted and not much else, this would get destroyed numerous times with injuries and lack of blocking from the other 4. Noah Fifita was unable to do as good as a QB can be when he was practically tackle when he would hike the ball, his limited time to read the field had made him develop a 1 route look style of play which wasn’t great as he would get sacked or throw a bad pass when the 1st read was gone. Defensively, it was riddled with injuries and lack of performance by some that hindered the dominance the defense can be. p pSome highs that came to be for the team was in the development of Luke Haisz, who is already an factor and is one of the best TEs in the league after replacing Kittle. DT Walter Nolen continued to be good in the interior for the 49ers and was able to become a SS for the defensive line. LB Brooks Miller shined for the defense, he was moved to be mainly on the edge to get more snaps over Lindenberg and he continued to make play after play while gaining valuable advise from Fred Warner.

The improvements that the team is looking to add in the draft is mainly offensive line help as it cannot be a one man line and expect Fifita to thrive behind them. With all of the help on the offensive line, another spot that needs to get improved is the defensive line as Bosa and Hunter were injured too many times last season and getting some younger bodies there can help the team stay strong when injuries occur. p
