The Detroit Lions dealt with arguably the worst Quarterback in PML history in Trace McSorely. They have recently traded with the Cleveland Browns to get Baker Mayfield in the blue and gray. This was an exciting move for Motor City…until he got suspended in preseason. Baker put up one of the best stat lines in preseason PML history. The man threw for 9 TDs, over 800 yards, and 5 of those TDs were to his rookie WR Garrett Wilson. He looked like he was in the zone all game. The man wasn’t even running the regular season playbook, he was doing this on randomized plays! The defense also let Josh Allen completely s*** on them throwing for over 600 yards and 6 TDs.
We talked with Baker briefly after this amazing game. He stated, “I mean s***, I’m not on the Browns anymore I’m on the Lions. No more throwing to Odell Beckham Jr, Jarvis Landry and there for d*** sure is no Nick Chubb in my backfield. Look at the d*** talent around me, I gotta give these bums confidence somehow. So why not boost their egos in preseason?” Baker reportedly lost a few thousand followers on Instagram after these ruthless comments completely roasting his supporting cast. However, he does have a point though. He has one of the most unproven supporting casts in the league, but there is no reason for him to throw them under the bus like this.
We asked Baker another question about his friend Josh Allen on the opposing sideline. “Aye man Josh Allen is my guy. His coach and staff over there is cool too. We both live in Buffalo and knew what time it was man. I ain’t think anyone would care about a preseason game.”
As a result, the NFL suspended him for inflating his stats in preseason and the coach does not want him playing Week 1 for his attitude. We shall see what happens in Detroit.
Should the fans be happy now that they have their QB of the future and he put up a historic debut? Or should they be worried Baker might not even last one season in Detroit?
