The Ultimate PML 2022 First Round Re-Draft!

Hindsight is 22/22 today as we re-do the first round of the 2022 PML Draft with the knowledge of players’ stats and dev traits!

1 NYG

OG pick: Kavon Thibideoux

Redraft: Kavon Thibideoux [SS]

The Giants made the right move trading up for Thibs, no need to switch up.

2 CLE

OG pick: Desmond Ridder

Redraft: Malik Willis [S]

The Browns get their actual franchise QB this time around. Even without abilities, this is a no-brainer.

3 NYJ

OG Pick: Derek Stingley Jr

Redraft: Derek Stingley Jr [SS]

The Jets could go with the X-Factor Ahmad Gardner now that we have the hindsight, but we’ll have them keep Stingley.

4 PIT

OG Pick: Jordan Davis

Redraft: Ahmad Gardner [SSXF]

Jordan Davis is a SS, but Ahmad Gardner is a can’t miss prospect at pick 4 with SSXF.

5 WAS

OG Pick: Malik Willis

Redraft: Jordan Battle [SSXF]

Using hindsight, Jordan Battle is an SSXF that can play Sub LB. This move strengthens the WFT defense and saves them from wasting their 2023 first-round pick on Duncan. WFT could go QB here, but Willis didn’t save WFT from losing double-digit games last season.

6 NYJ

OG Pick: Kyle Hamilton

Redraft: Kyle Hamilton [S]

I really want to give the Jets Evan Neal here, but they have Beckton and Terron Armstead shoring up the outside. So Hamilton still is a physical freak that fills a big hole.

7 ATL

OG Pick: Evan Neal

Redraft: Evan Neal [SS]

Falcons get lucky twice, getting Neal to somehow drop in the actual draft and the redraft.

8 HOU

OG Pick: Drake Jackson

Redraft: Zach Harrison [SS]

While Drake Jackson had double digit sacks in his rookie season, the Texans get a faster edge rusher with SS instead with hindsight.

9 CIN

OG Pick: Aiden Hutchinson

Redraft: Jordan Davis [SS]

How the tables have turned! Keuran goes from laughing at Nef’s pick to taking Jordan Davis himself with the SS status over Hutchinson.

10 HOU

OG Pick: Chris Olave

Redraft: Nolan Smith [SS]

Hindsight once again blesses the Texans to grab a SS player, this time a project OLB with 88 speed in Nolan Smith instead of the WR.

11 CAR

OG Pick: Zach Harrison

Redraft: Daxton Hill [SS]

The Panthers still get a SS player at 11, but this time a safety that they can develop for a year.

12 WFT

OG Pick: Jalen Wydermyer

Redraft: JT Daniels [S]

Washington falls into their QB with the strong arm of JT Daniels. Wydermyer had an underwhelming rookie year for WFT.

13 PIT

OG Pick: Ahmad Gardner

Redraft: Demarvin Leal [S]

Pittsburgh still gets an elite nose tackle out of this draft in Leal, probably what they should’ve done in the real draft.

14 MIN

OG Pick: Ikem Ekwonu

Redraft: Josh Jobe [SS]

The Vikings land a SS corner with hindsight. While Oline is still a hole here, you can’t pass up on SS talent on this pick.

15 NE

OG Pick: Demarvin Leal

Redraft: Charleston Rambo [SS]

Rambo has already lost his SS abilities, but maybe in a Pats offense that’ll actually need and use Rambo he will flourish and keep his abilities. Rambo starts at a 63 OVR, but a SS receiver is what the doctor ordered.

16 PHI

OG Pick: Andrew Booth Jr

Redraft: Andrew Booth Jr [S]

Booth was a fine pick, Philly can go other ways but this fit their vision to stack the secondary so we’ll keep the pick.

17 HOU

OG Pick: Kenyon Green

Redraft: Ikem Ekwonu [S]

Houston clearly needed Oline help. Sam Howell at 17 could be a shout but the Texans fill other needs instead, but this time take the lower overall guard with S dev.

18 JAX

OG Pick: Jaheel Billingsly

Redraft: Aiden Hutchison [S]

Billingsly wasn’t a bad pick, he filled a major hole. But this time the Jags get some needed help in the trenches so their 3 man pass rush can maybe get some pressure.

19 NO

OG Pick: Spencer Rattler

Redraft: Spencer Rattler [S]

The Big Easy still gets their QB, maybe this time they don’t throw 55 picks with him…

20 TB

OG Pick: Tyler Linderbaum

Redraft: Sam Howell [N]

The QB position was the Achilles heel of Tampa Bay last season, they address that in this redraft.

21 KC

OG Pick: Jordan Battle

Redraft: Drake Jackson [S]

The Chiefs conveniently have a top pass rusher fall into their lap at 21 and don’t hesitate to pull the trigger.

22 DAL

OG Pick: Kalir Elam

Redraft: Josh Whyle [SS]

Sure he was only a 63 OVR out the gate, but Dallas takes the chance on their franchise TE with SS development.

23 DET

OG Pick: Garrett Wilson

Redraft: Chris Olave [S]

The Lions still go Ohio State WR, just this time the one with the better dev trait.

24 MIA

OG Pick: Christian Harris

Redraft: Brandon Smith [S]

Harris was undoubtedly a bust. Miami this time gets a faster LB with Star dev.

25 LAC

OG Pick: Charles Cross

Redraft: Kenyon Green [N]

It is pretty criminal Kenyon Green has fallen this far. Time for his free-fall to end as a very excited Chargers squad gets a better OL product.

26 CAR

OG Pick: Owen Pappoe

Redraft: Jaheel Billingsly [N]

The Panthers get a TE to fill a hole in their roster, with perhaps the best TE talent of the draft at pick 26. Pappoe was a solid pick, but Billingsly gives you more bang for your buck.

27 WFT

OG Pick: Jaxson Kirkland

Redraft: Rasheed Walker [S]

WFT goes oline, but this time gets one with Star dev.

28 DEN

OG Pick: Dean Malone
Redraft: Taqiq Wooden [N]

Denver’s going for the freakish 6’5 corner with 92 speed. Makes sense. Malone was a nonfactor as a rookie.

29 TEN

OG Pick: Josh Jobe

Redraft: Desmond Ridder [S]

QB issues plagued Tennessee last season, so they take the chance on a young Star dev QB this time around.

30 CAR

OG Pick: Tariq Wooden

Redraft: Myles Jones [N]

No 6’5 corner with 92 speed this time in Charlotte, but your consolation prize is a 6’4 corner with 93 speed.

31 GB

OG Pick: George Karlaftis

Redraft: Nakobe Dean [S]

Packers not only fill a need at LB, they get a great user LB with star dev. Karlaftis was a great pick, but he only got 3 tackles last year.

32 SF

OG Pick: Rasheed Walker

Redraft: Kaliir Elam [S]

Play Elam at CB or SS, either way the 9ers get one of the top DB prospects at pick 32 and don’t have to blow assets on pick #2 in 2023.

BONUS! 33 ARI

OG Pick: Delarrin Turner-Yell

Redraft: ANYONE ELSE!

Try to find Turner-Yell on mymadden.com and let me know how it goes…

OVERALL Synposis:

I am one man, just one bored man. So don’t take it too personally, enjoy the re-draft and wonder what if!
