This is our second official check in to see how the Giants rookies are doing so far this year. We will take a look at their stats from the last four weeks and see if any of them are making an impact or potentially in line for any early awards.
Edge Abdul Carter SUPERSTAR 82->83->84OVR (RD1P3):
Player TKL SCK INT FF FR TD
Carter 17.0 7.0 1 0 0
Carter has been getting better each week. He has jumped up 2 overall points and already has as many sacks as games played. There are times he is missing in games, however, other times he takes over the game completely. He leads all rookies in sacks and is second in the league only to Garret. The hope is his dominance continues especially with the better lineman in the past now. He is currently in the running for defensive rookie of the year.
HB Cam Skattebo STAR 74 OVR (RD4P3):
Player Att Yds Avg TD Lng 20+ BKT
Skattebo 32 165 5.2 1 26 1 3
He has been getting the ball more frequently, especially with the deadline coming up for overuse. He has made the most of his touches in the game as he is averaging over 5 yards per carry. He won’t be the featured back, he is to slow but the way he is being used has worked for the offense.
QB Jaxson Dart NORMAL 71->72 OVR (RD1P25):
Player Cmp Att % Yds Avg TD INT Lng
Dart 189 263 71.9 2774 10.5 26 8 83 0.0 10 84
Dart has taken the league by storm. He isn’t the fastest or most powerful rookie, however, he is a mix of both. His 84 speed, and 88 throw power give him the ability to escape the pocket and make most throws that are needed on the football field. Outside of week 8 where he threw 4 interceptions, Dart has played turnover free and was the reason the Giants are in games. Even with his 4 interceptions, he put the Giants in position to win and with a better choice of throw, they might have knocked off the best team in the league. As of right now Dart is leading all rookie quarterbacks in completions, completion percentage, passing yards, and passing touchdowns. His 8 interceptions are tied for second best. He is right there competing for rookie of the year. If he can continue his play, he will cement himself as offensive rookie of the year.
