Coach Burn has put together one of the best rosters in the game. Team building is only one part of being a coach, the other is putting the players in the right positions in order for them to succeed. This is the part that Coach Burn and the Giants have failed to do this season. After a dreary loss last week to the Los Angeles Rams, the Giants currently sit at 3-5. This is good for last in the NFC East. The East is one of the toughest divisions to play in and the Giants are struggling to compete.
The Giants have had one of the toughest schedules to start out the season, playing 6/8 teams who are .500 or better. The good news is they are beating the teams that they should, however, they can’t find a way to close out the other close games they have been in. Weeks 2 and 5 saw the Giants losing by three points. Had they found a way to close out these games, they could be over .500 at the moment. While they do have a good win over the Cowboys, they have also been blown out in 3 games.
To recap, they have won 3 games, lost by 3 in 2 games, and been blown out in 3 games. This level of inconsistency is sadly who Coach Burn is. He can bring his team to compete with most in the league one week, then get blown out the next. This isn’t winning football and if it continues will only lead to another season of disappointment for the Giants. The good news is that the season isn’t over, however, the schedule doesn’t ease up after the bye one bit. They will face off against 6 out of 9 teams that are .500 or better at the moment. If the Giants don’t want to be last in the NFC East come season’s end, Coach Burn will need to boost his team’s morale, while also sticking to one quarterback each week. The shuffling of Daniel Jones and C.J Stroud isn’t helping the team and both quarterbacks seem to be suffering from the lack of reps. Coach Burn has announced that C.J Stroud is the starting quarterback after the bye, but let’s hope that he sticks with Stroud for his sake. The Giants will face off against the Dolphins in just one weeks time. They will need the win if they have any hope at saving this sinking ship.
