The Ben Johnson Effect

Ben Johnson has only been with the Chicago Bears for one season, but already the culture is shifting and a winning environment is being established. They narrowly missed out on the playoffs after finishing 9-8, but had a very successful time finding their offensive identity and developing key players for the future in a variety of ways. At the end of the day, only one team. hoists the Super Bowl trophy, and Ben Johnson is getting his guys ready to make that a possibility.

Attribute Requests as Focused Reps in Practice

Coach Johnson and the rest of his staff had certain players lock in on certain areas of their game that he felt were most important to their individual and the team’s success.

226 AR Over 23 Different Players

By the end of season one, Ben had helped 23 different players with 2 of them getting the full attention of 10 attributes, with 2 late additions only getting 8 each.

Skill Points as Potential

Certain Bears in Ben Johnson’s scheme have shined, but haven’t quite broke the threshold to become their best selves.

Bears Pro Bowlers

Chicago was able to have 3 offensive and 3 defensive Pro Bowlers

NFC QB1 Caleb Williams

No surprise to see the NFC best QB and league MVP make it to the Pro Bowl, even if he wants the Super Bowl more.

NFC WR2 Rome Odunze

Only behind Marvin Harrison Jr, this 2025 WR draft class is shaping up to be as good as it looked.

NFC TE2 Colston Loveland

He justified being taken over Tyler Warren and then some with an unforgettable rookie season.

NFC SAM2 Ruben Hyppolite II

The defense as a whole was poor, but Hyppolite shined with a couple of impact plays, enough of which to get the votes to be a Pro Bowler as a rookie.

NFC WILL1 TJ Edwards

30 tackles for loss was for nothing for the team, but at least Edwards got an individual accolade.

NFC CB2 Tyrique Stevenson

Catching eight interceptions takes some talent and anticipation, so it’s not surprising Stevenson was recognized, even in Chicago’s unit.

Bears Dev Changes

Heavy overlap between these changes and the Pro Bowlers, but five went up a dev trait, while one lost theirs.

WR DJ Moore Down to Superstar from Star

1000+ yards from scrimmage and 10+ TDs wasn’t enough in such a crowded and crazy offensive league.

QB Caleb Williams Up to Superstar from Star

MVP didn’t get a double dev, but X-Factor will come eventually.

WR Rome Odunze Up to X-Factor from Superstar

One of the best WRs in PML is now a wrecking ball metaphorically and literally.

TE Colston Loveland Up to Superstar from Star

Another superstar option defenses will have to watch next season as the talent in Chicago grows.

SAM Ruben Hyppolite II Up to Star from Normal

I was surprised it didn’t revert since his season wasn’t special, a huge get for the fourth round rookie who sucks in real life.

CB Tyrique Stevenson Up to Superstar from Star

Changed his future with the Bears in one season, I def have to keep him around long term now.
