Week 2 GOTW Interviews!

pFirst up, Coach Greeny.

HD – Obviously everyone saw the Blockbuster trade for HB Jonathon Taylor, he had 35 touches in the week 1 win against the Saints. Is that the gameplan to help the young QB? Or did that just happen to work for this particular game?

CG – He’s going to receive a bulk of the workload normally, but losing pitts and game script led to that amount of touches.

HD – The Jaguars played a very similar last week with Travis Etienne getting 30 touches also, are your guys prepared to try and stop kinda the same offense you run yourself? And does the threat of DJ Moore and Christian Kirk kinda make you not sell out for ET?

CG – We saw them all for 4 quarters during a blowout in the preseason, hopefully we hold up better this time around.

HD – Finally, the Jaguars caused 7 turnovers last week against the High Powered Rams. Do you think JT being your focus point helps or hurts? If they stop JT is your offense made to go else where with the ball and kinda put the game on the arm of Young Ridder?

CG – We are trying to focus on protecting the ball better in this season over the previous one. If someone can stop JT then of course it’ll disrupt my offense. I felt he was held in check a bit week 1 and still finished with 165 yards. Ridder is once again short on talent as he has been his entire career with now Kyle Pitts hurt. We have confidence he can make reads and help us try and control the clock. Jags play a really solid defense so it’ll be a battle but if we can keep the game close, we feel confident in late game situations.

Next, we have Codes and HypeMike

CC – Good win last week, Etienne had a great game. Can we except something similar this week?

CH – Thank you. I think you can expect the same next week, but we’ll see. I adjust depending on the game. My defense won my game last week so I ran a lot with Travis. It’s funny I’m known for blitzing but I only blitzed DK like three times that game. Our guys boxed up everything. The secondary and Josh Allen won that game more than Travis.

CC – Atlanta acquiring Jonathan Taylor in the off-season, he had a huge week one. What’s your plan to stop him?

CH – My plan is to make him throw. I know I’m known for being young but stopping the run takes football knowledge. Knowing how to fill gaps, run assignments, that’s football. I got no XF d lineman. No inside stuffs, none of them run stopping abilities. This will test what I know on X’s and O’s. I won’t say too much but we know he has to be stopped. It’s gonna take my knowledge of the game to stop a 99 HB without any ability defensive players.

CC – DJ moore is very familiar with ATL. How do you plan to get him involved?

CH – DJ opens up everything. Kirk is not a WR1 in real life and in madden. I didn’t want my first option being a guy with return man, so we got our WR1 in Moore and if he’s 1v1, he WILL be targeted.

Third, we have Coach ‘D tier’ Dlloyd

HD – Last week your defense looked like a top 10 unit, are they prepared for the offensive mind the cowboys are led with?

CD – I hope so. Improving our defense was an important part of our offseason. If we want success this game we can’t let Jefe and Dak get comfortable. Our superstar first round DE Zach Harrison will be making his NFL debut so hopefully he can help create pressure and get Dak to make a few mistakes. No further questions.

Dlloyd then ended his presser with “C*** Nation.. Lets ride..” and everyone left in disgust.

Finally we have Codes and Jefe

CC – Congratulations on a week 1 win. The run game didn’t ever get going. Not what people expect from the Cowboys. Do you have a plan to change that this week?

CJ – Just continue to make in game adjustments. Sometimes the run game, sometimes the pass game. Just take what our opponent gives us.

CC – Dlloyd is known to have a very unique offense and had a very explosive week 1. Is there anything you saw from his game that you guys are focused on this week?

CJ – Keep the ball away from ball hawking Simmons.

CC – You’re off to a very different start to this season compared to last. I know it’s pretty early, but what are your season expectations?

CJ – We fully expect to compete for the division and hope to make a deep playoff run.p
