Raiders week 1
In the season opener raiders faced off against the divisional rival broncos. Raiders defense came out soft and let the broncos walk up and down the field for 3 straight TDs to start the game while the raiders were only able to go down and kick 2 field goals to make the score 21-6 with 2 mins left in the 1st half. But when we got ball back
knowing we get ball at half the only thought was this is where we tie it, so drove down the field and get a TD with 50 sec left in the half and went for 2 to make 21-14 then chidobe Awuzie came up with a huge int before half to give us 25 secs to make something happen before half and with 8 sec left just outside of field goal range we throw it up to davante adams who comes down with it in double cvg to make it 21-21 going into half.
Coming out of half we drive down and score to make it 28-21. And from there the defense stepped up and only allowed 7 in the 2nd half while the offense put up 10 more to make it a final of 38-28. Davante looked like the best WR in the league again with a dominant performance. The scheme was working great on offense. But the defense missed our rookie SS moten quite badly.
And some guys where just not in the spots I had game planned for them to be in bc of the messed up depth chart. But overall the defense makes more sense than it did last year. I tell them to do something and they go out there and execute, while last especially the Dline couldn’t stop run while playing run which was our main issue.
Looking to week 2 and the titans. Gameplan should be the same besides some extra emphasis on stopping the run. And we are still looking for the defense to show us they can be a top 12 groupÂ
