If these guys win the Super Bowl, you’ll give out a little fist pump. One for the good guys! These are the guys everyone roots for to win it all! In order to crack this list, you have to be winning and not spark beef with the chat. Guys like Vet and Mali don’t crack the list because they don’t win enough. Guys like CEO and Burn don’t make it because they (fairly or unfairly) will draw the ire of the crowd whether they’re winning or losing. And guys like Z and KingMike don’t make the list because they can get into a chat scrap or two despite being generally likeable characters. So here we go, the 10 guys everyone loves to see win in PML!
10. Season 5 JT
The big commish himself barely makes the list. But no doubt JT would be a lot higher if he ever made a playoff push in the first 4 seasons. But when Season 5 JT shocks the world and dominates, everyone hops on the bandwagon and roots him on to go on a miraculous postseason run.
9. Que
So Que is going to be the only person that makes the PML villian list and PML Hero list. Que is that much of an enigma. The cammish himself is always good for some good jokes in chat, with a lot even being at his own expense. He can be so down on himself when he fails, that you root for him to turn it around. And he is a true PML Vet which adds a few brownie points. But his self-inflicted villain status makes it so we can’t put him any higher.
8. Jefe
The life guru! Jefe is the wise sage of the Discord, always providing level-headed takes and generally minding his own business. And he’s a winner on the virtual field. Really, Jefe’s resume should make him top 3. But for some reason Jefe is not a true fan favorite right now. Whether it’s his absence from chat for long stretches, or his gameplay that might make someone mad, Jefe still has a ways to go to climb the ranks. But he without a doubt one of the good guys of PML.
7. JC
JC had a solid Madden 21 PML campaign. But his return to PML this cycle has catapulted him into our list of heroes. His ability to turn around the Colts dumpster fire that he was presented with has been admirable. His gameplay on the field is filled with some good Xs and Os football execution that makes you respect his style. His lack of seasons in PML doesn’t make him a true hero like others, and to be honest he’s the most at risk on this list of dropping off. But for now, JC is a guy you’re happy to see win.
6. Ant
Everyone loves Ant. He always brings good vibes and never takes himself too seriously. He is a core member of PML that makes the league as good as it is. Ant’s one weakness is his consistency in putting together winning seasons. That deducts his status, since sometimes you don’t have the energy to root for the guy you don’t believe in. But when Ant goes on a run, like season 5 of last cycle, everyone is on their feet cheering him to victory.
5. Deebo
Like Mattigy in the villains list, Deebo is a PML rookie cracking the top 5 of our heroes list. And it’s more impressive that a PML rook cracked the top 5 of guys you want to see win. Deebo is the definition of cool as a cucumber. And he’s put together some winning football so far, pushing the eventual AFC champion Ravens to the brink in last season’s Wild Card round. A combination of more winning and more experience can get Deebo even higher on this list eventually.
4. HypeMike
The past two cycles HypeMike has been dealt some of the worst hands in PML during team selection. And he’s turning trash into treasure for the second cycle in a row. Mike’s ability to beat you with a less talented team by out-scheming you leaves you no choice but to shake his hand and say good job coach after the game. His constant heartbreaking losses in the playoffs make you feel for him and root for him to get over the hump. Mike can be a bit feisty though, so he’s not everyone’s hero. And if he ever gets a good roster from the jump, he might not be anyone’s hero. But right now, he’s PML’s best rags-to-riches story two cycles running.
3. Dlloyd
Dlloyd’s turnaround in Madden 21, from being a low tier player to a straight up world beater, was a story everyone loved. Dlloyd is the gold standard of winning in simulation Madden style. And his experience as a former football player at the lower levels makes you respect anything that comes out of his mouth. Dlloyd hasn’t been able to taste playoff success since Madden 21, but he’s still competing at a high level. When Dlloyd’s team is in that Wild Card mix late in the season, just know the crowd is rooting for Dlloyd to take your spot.
2. Wimmy
Wimmy strikes the perfect balance of being everyone’s friend off the field, while also winning on the field. All Wimmy has done since he entered PML late in Madden 21 is put together winning seasons. But he does it in such a sim manner that his sim score will always be a perfect 10. Wimmy’s recent rise to Commish status confirms his leaguewide popularity.
1. Cammy
PML has some great characters. But in order to be #1, you have to bring something special. And Cammy’s Candian-ness is the special sauce in the recipe that makes PML’s greatest hero. Cammy was not a winner in PML until this cycle, so he was right there with Season 5 JT beforehand. But now we have winning Cammy, and boy has it been a treat in Madden 23. The Cincinnati Bengals are everyone’s favorite team this cycle. Cammy’s energy, love for PML, and love for everyone in PML puts the cape on his back and lets him fly to stardom!
