Top 5 PML Red Zone “Hood Classics”

Before we go into the list, let’s explain a PML hood classic. These are the games no one is tuning in to except a true PML junkie. These games will mostly feature either 1 or 2 teams under .500. But they are like a car crash, you can’t help but slow down and check it out. Ok let’s get it.

5. Drama vs Arod/HD

Drama vs either of these 2 opponents is a true PML rivalry. It usually has zero significance to any sort of playoff implications. But the pre-game trash talk builds up the ball game, and you gotta see who can pull it off!

4. NFC South vs NFC South

The NFC South is the OG division for PML hood classics since Madden 20. JT and his Panthers are the definitions of a hood classic team. But within this division, you have other unnecessary shenanigans this cycle. Greeny pulling off jersey gate on Burn, JT pulling out the fake punt while leading in the 4th quarter, or DTR shenanigans in blowouts with Codes make all 4 quarters worth watching somehow.

3. Any Curt Lions game

Ahhh Curt. We all know Curt can bring his A-game against anyone. But Curt’s Lions stint has been as hood as it gets so far. A lot of TDs, a lot of picks, and a lot of lag. It makes for some chaotic action no matter who the opponent is.

2. Dlloyd vs Ant

Dlloyd’s Raiders and Ant’s 49ers had a legendary PML game in Madden 22 that got featured on the Red Zone. Ask Z about it. A lot of turnovers, touchdowns, and a crazy ending where Deshaun Watson got tackled 1 yard short of the end zone to win the game as time expired. Dlloyd and Ant are usually around .500 so these matchups don’t carry too heavy of playoff implications. And these 2 both have unique sim styles, that when blended together for their matchup creates flames.

1. AFC North vs AFC North

PML’s biggest hood classics right now happen in the AFC North. When KingKe and Cammy match up against the bottom 2 teams it’s stats galore. Joe Burrow, Jamaar Chase, and Joe Mixon look like the greatest show on turf. Lamar Jackson scores half his season TDs in these 4 games it feels like. And when the Browns and Steelers play…I mean someone has to win right? But this is based on seasons 1 and 2. Now Vet is no longer the Browns and Miles steps in. If Miles is able to even come close to competing it may make the AFC North actual football and not just hood classics. Arod also said he took out Wildcat from his playbook, so there’s optimism that Pittsburgh can play real football now.

Honorable mention to any HD or Nef face cam games
