Interviewer: Derrick, how the heck are you still capable of running the ball the way you do year after year?
Derrick Henry: I take my training very seriously, especially during the offseason. It’s a time for me to focus on improving myself as a player and to make sure I come back stronger for the next season. I train hard every day, pushing myself to be the best I can be.
Interviewer: Can you give us a specific example of what your training regimen entails?
Derrick Henry: Sure. I start my day with a heavy weightlifting session, focusing on building strength and power in my legs and core. After that, I’ll hit the field for some running and agility drills to work on my speed and quickness. And, of course, I make sure to get in plenty of reps carrying the ball, as that’s always a focus for me. I also pay close attention to my nutrition and make sure I’m fueling my body with the right foods to support my training.
Interviewer: That sounds intense. What drives you to put in this level of work during the offseason?
Derrick Henry: My love for the game and my desire to be the best I can be. I want to help my team win and make an impact on the field. And I know that the only way to do that is by putting in the work and training my hardest. That’s what drives me, and I’ll continue to push myself to be the best player I can be.
