What is the status of Ed Oliver and when is he set to return?
Ed Oliver returned last night Vs the Colts but quickly returned to the sidelines after he broke his ribs midway through the 3rd quarter. His presence has been missed as our run defense hasn't been the same all year and with Von already gone the pass rush has been nothing but abysmal this year. We have to wait 4 more weeks to see him in action and with his track record I highly doubt he finishes the season.
What were some of the contributing factors to the loss this week?
In the past 2 weeks the biggest factors in our losses have been the costly turnovers on our opponent's side of the field and the inability to sustain drives at crucial points of the game. In the Rams game it was a crucial pick 6 before half and then yesterday a crucial pick when I could've made it a 7 or 3 point lead. In both of these games there was a point in the 2nd half were my defense got a stop and my offense was enable to stack together 1st downs to cut into the lead. It's pretty frustrating that we can't put together a full 40 minutes of quality football but hopefully things will change sometime soon.
How much of a problem is Kwity Paye on the defensive line?
Kwity Paye is a big problem along with the Colts front 4 that is hard to stop as a whole. When you have Buckner and the Vet Fletcher Cox along with a young Jalen Carter it's tough sledding all around. Paye a good player but when you have 3 others that are capable of winning on their own it puts the offense in a bind, nobody can really be double teamed unless you run a good bit of 12, 13 and 22 personnel sets. As expected, our young offensive line struggled and as a result our offense put together a poor performance.
What are your thoughts about the Colts just in general as a team?
The Colts are a solid roster overall, while they are lacking in some positions, but they are top tier in the spots that matter the most which is in the trenches. They have a solid 1-2 punch in the backfield and a solid linebacker core and while they could be better a Wr or Cb they have enough in other spots to help cover that void..
