Sam Howell is not the answer in Washington:
Overreaction or reality: Reality
The Commanders have stumbled out of the gates so far this season, and with a week 7 loss have fallen to 3-4. The defense has been keeping their games close, but the offense has been struggling to make the plays when they need to. Sam Howell is averaging 200 yards per game, with 9 touchdowns to 17 interceptions. Howell has solid attributes and high throw power but has the dreaded paranoid sense of pressure along with a throwing animation that is on the slower side. Howell is not a statue in the pocket, but also is not someone that you really have to gameplan for and worry about in the ground game. If Washington wants to reach the top of PML, they might have to make a big move this offseason, looking for an elite veteran QB, or a young superstar in the draft. Don’t forget that we saw this GM make a big move to get Bryce Young.
CJ Stroud is not there just yet
Overreaction or reality: Overreaction
CJ Stroud had a blow-up game this week in a critical NFC West matchup against the Rams. Stroud completed 5 passes and threw 4 interceptions, and overall was just missing throws, only completing 26% of his passes. While this was a bad game and likely the worst in Stroud’s career, it only counts as one loss. The Seahawks are now 6-1, and though Stroud’s stats don’t look great, he has still led them to this point. Seattle may be a run first team, but you still need to respect Stroud, Metcalf, and Tyler Lockett. They get a bye week before matching up with the Rams again, and you have to think that Stroud and the Seahawks will give the Rams all that they have.

The Texans are frauds
Overreaction or reality: Reality
The Houston Texans have started off the year 5-2. But how come? Their offense last szn was 17th in total yards and this year they are 23rd so that didn’t wildly improve, the big change on the offense is just turning it over less which is still quite often. The defense is currently 12th in total yards allowed and 17th in points, compared to last szns 23&27 ranked defense. Now most of you are wondering what changed? He picked up Jayron Kearse in FA to play SUBLB when he was never eligible to be one. Kearse leads the team in interceptions and has irreversibly changed the outcome of the season by cheating. Who knows maybe ceo or tbandit wouldn’t have thrown in the towel already. With no subLB on this roster and 70 ovr Kwon Alexander up next in the depth chart. This defense has a good chance of reverting back to what they were last szn. And maybe with some added struggles and close games they will throw more picks and completely revert back to 2023 drama.
Spdot is wasting premier talent and future dpoy
Overreaction or reality: Reality
Kyle Hamilton, Isiah Simmons, James Williams, and JL skinner. That’s the entire list of sublbs who are 6’4, Skinner has higher cod and acceleration than Kyle Hamilton. He has a better man than Isaiah Simmons and similar zone coverage. He is tied with James Williams for the highest hit power at 92. He has the highest blockshed out of all 4. Skinner holds his own in this elite category of players at a premium position. Skinner had a solid rookie szn putting up 7 picks but there were players like 5th round pick moten who’s 6’0 and caught 8 picks and forced more FFs. Meanwhile almost halfway thru his sophomore year, he has 0 INTs. It’s a shame and disappointment that such a gifted talent is being wasted out there in Chicago. He should be a dpoy/ mvp candidate every year and completely change a defense locking up the entire middle of the field. Overall, I believe the bears should move him for a package of multiple assets so they can keep filling out these normal dev demons.

The Browns are the most overhyped carousel addition in Pml history
Overreaction or reality: Reality
This is my last time talk about the carousel, but I had to get this off my chest. This offseason when the browns were added there was hype surrounding his name with rumors going around, he owns Cammy who is a contender in the afc. This had everybody thinking the Afc was going to get deeper and that shot at a super bowl was going to be much more different. That’s been far from the case as he’s sitting at 0-7 with his only 2 competitive games coming against the Steelers and Eagles who might be 2 of the worst coaches in the league while every other game was a blowout although he did play the Ravens kind of tough. I honestly bought in and thought he would be a playoff user but in all honesty, he could be gone by the end of this year. I like to give people time to adjust without their custom playbook, but I just don’t see much there and now I’ve watched him a couple of times to see for himself. Deshaun Watson is having another tough season with 25 picks through 7 games and the most disappointing thing is Nick Chubb only having 446 yards through 7 games with the Browns having a top10 if not top 5 in the league. He’s just lost from a scheme perspective and don’t really know if he’s locked in mentally because he’s not in chat, doing content or anything so there’s a bunch to be disappointed about in Cleveland.
The Afc South will only send 1
Overreaction or reality: Reality
I know this sounds a little crazy with the Jags sitting at 5-2 and the Colts sitting at 4-3 but when you look at the Afc and how tight it is there’s really no margin for error by any stretch. The Colts are a good roster and have made nice moves the last 2 off seasons but I have him losing 5 more games (Jets, Packers, Bengals, Giants and the Jags) those are 5 definite losses while there’s users like Bubba, curt and ceo can always sneak up on you so it’s no guarantee. In my opinion 8 losses this season will not be good enough but only time will tell. Now Drama is sitting at 5-2 is cute but we all know who drama is. That man is good for a late season collapse. I have him losing to the (Jets, Bears, Bills, Packers, Chargers, Colts and Jags) to close the season and that’s me being nice… there’s a good chance that Bubba beats him twice and Nef beats him so it’s tough sledding out there for Drama. Maybe everybody in the Afc beats up on each other and they all hover around 8-9 and 9-8 bit in my eyes 8 losses isn’t going to cut it this year. The Jags, Ravens, Dolphins, Bengals are all locks to make the playoffs with the Jets, Raiders, Chargers with a few other teams like the Broncos hanging around.
