FA Recap W/ Grades Part 2

88 Star WR Keenan Allen: Packers: 4 years, 55.6M Salary, 30.4M Bonus: C- 20M a year for a washed WR who has already regressed quite a bit. Christian Watson and Keylon Stokes are better

85 Star WR Brandin Cooks: Chargers: 3 years, 30M Salary, 15M Bonus: A- a very reasonable contract and probably better than Keenan although they do lack a jump ball threat with Toney and Cooks as the top 2

82 Star WR Brandon Aiyuk: Chargers: 3 years, 16.5M Salary, 9M Bonus: B- I’d like this a lot better without Cooks, it’s a lot of money for an WR3 who has a very similar play style to the top 2

81 Star DT Harrison Phillips: Bills: 2 years, 6.2M Salary, 10.2M Bonus: B+ pretty expensive contract but worth it for a 97 strength nose tackle who will eat up inside runs.

80 Normal K Chris Boswell: Buccaneers: 1 year, 2.5M Salary, 1.4M Bonus: B fine contract for 1 year for a good kicker. Take notes people who overpay ridiculously. This is how you do moderate overpaying

79 Normal SS Jayron Kearse: Raiders: 1 year, 2.4M Salary, 1.4M Bonus: B- He’s tall and this is a cheap contract but can’t imagine he actually does any good. Matigy knows he isn’t a valid sub LB right?

79 Normal SS Jordan Poyer: Packers: 3 years, 9M Salary, 5.4M Bonus: C- not cheap enough for a guy who will be a liability if he ever steps on the field. Points for being a mentor I guess

79 Star TE Tyler Conklin: Packers: 4 years, 12M Salary, 16M Bonus: C+ this would get a much worse grade if it was anyone else. Mike uses 3 tight ends so this is a fine contract for a 3rd tight end.

79 Normal MLB Zach Cunningham: Patriots: 1 year, 2.7M Salary, 2.2M Bonus: B- he’s not good at anything but he isn’t bad at much either and for that price for 1 year, I see no problem

78 Normal FB Maxx Williams: Steelers: 2 years, 3.6M Salary, 3M Bonus: C The contract is whatever and I’m a fan of fullbacks I just feel like there were better options or at least take a chance in the draft and pick this guy up preseason week 1

78 Normal WR Curtis Samuel: Falcons: 3 years, 12.6M Salary, 9M Bonus: A a very good contract from a guy with 94 speed who is also a solid receiver. Surprised more people didn’t drive up the price.

77 Normal DT Javon Hargrave: Eagles: 1 year, 2M Salary, 2.3M Bonus: C- unlike real life, Hargrave isn’t good at much and as reasonable as the contract is I would have liked to see the Eagles go after someone with potential or more firepower even for one year

76 Normal WR Donovan Peoples-Jones: Eagles: 3 Years, 9.3M Salary, 3.6M Bonus: B I don’t think this really moves the needle but it’s still a good depth signing to have in case of injury or fatigue

76 Normal LT Cam Robinson: Commanders: 3 years, 21M Salary, 13.5M Bonus: C+ pretty expensive for a backup but it’s a pretty great backup and in a division with Micah Parsons and the Giants whole line, that’s a good thing to have

76 Normal CB Aaron Robinson: Saints: 4 years, 9.2M Salary, 4M Bonus: B+ very reasonable contract for a 27 year old who isn’t short and has 93 speed. Content could actually make this guy a good nickel starter this year or just next year.

75 Normal WR Corey Davis: Cardinals: 2 years, 5M Salary, 1.8M Bonus: C+ Solid backup cheap contract who might actually have to play now that Rondale and Hopkins are gone. Cardinals should’ve gone after someone better probably.

75 Normal HB Cordarrelle Patterson: Jets: 1 year, 1.8M Salary, 1.5M Bonus: B with Breece Hall and Keaton Mitchell ahead of him he won’t be seeing offensive snaps but this contract is reasonable for an all-pro caliber returner

75 Normal FS Marquise Blair: Saints: 2 years, 3M Salary, 1.2M Bonus: A very good backup on a very good cheap contract. Wouldn’t have issues if he has to step in and start either.

75 Normal CB Michael Carter II: Patriots: 3 years, 5.7M Salary, 2.1M Bonus: B+ Great value contract for a slot CB to play behind the demon duo of Ricks and Ringo

73 Normal SS Keanu Neal: Commanders: 2 years, 4M Salary, 2M Bonus: A- the PML legend returns with a cheap contract on an already great defense. He’ll have opportunities to make plays if he’s needed

73 Normal RT Andre Dillard: Browns: 1 year, 1.9M Salary, 2.1M Bonus: B very solid offensive lineman who can play or be a top backup. Tall and not slow or not weak he is a capable plug and play.

72 Normal RG Ben Cleveland: Patriots: 1 Year, 1.8M Salary, 800k Bonus: A- an equally good plug and play with more strengths but a bit slower, he’s also cheaper than Dillard. Good signing

72 Normal WR Jamison Crowder: Raiders: 2 years, 4.4M Salary, 2M Bonus: D+ Contract is fine but 88 speed and 5’9 the Raiders will call a timeout if he ever sees the field. He’s there to be a mentor only which gets some points.

72 Normal LOLB Leon Jacobs: Commanders: 2 Years, 4M Salary, 2M Bonus: B+ cheap contract for a capable backup and user that can play in a fierce Washington defense. Quality pickup.

71 Normal FS JD Coffey III: Seahawks: 4 Years, 6.8M Salary, 4M Bonus: A Really really cool name and a cheap contract for a 92 speed safety who looks very solid as a backup and promising to get playing time

69 Normal RE Dee Ford: Colts: 1 year, 900k Salary, 200k Bonus: C mentor for Kwity Paye to lock down that contract. He shouldn’t see the field though or the Colts have a glaring weak spot.

69 Normal QB Jimmy Garoppolo: Raiders: 1 year, 2.2M Salary, 2.1M Bonus: C- Purely a mentor for Jayden Daniels but at least he isn’t the worst quarterback or anything.

68 Normal ROLB Kyle Van Noy: Raiders: 1 Year, 900k Salary, 200k Bonus: D much less capable as a player than you want even as a mentor because backup linebackers show up on special teams.

68 Normal SS Brandon Hill: Colts: 1 year, 1.8M Salary, 600k Bonus: D+ 92 speed young player sounds good but a little bit of an overpay for a 3rd string safety who probably won’t play or make an impact.

65 Normal TE Jesse James: Chargers: 1 year, 1.2M Salary, 600k Bonus: B- PML is all in on mentors but despite the low overall, James is capable and 6’7 and this contract is pretty cheap compared to tight end asking prices sometimes.
