What are your thoughts about the Steelers going into this week?
We believe the Steelers have made some serious improvements to their defense over the last couple of seasons. Their linebackers and defensive backs are among the best in the league. With the first pick in the 2025 draft they selected Maalik Murphy, and while he has the ability to be a weapon in the run game, he's still a Rookie. The game plan will be to run the ball, utilize Kyler Murray's ability to stretch the field and allow the defense to make Murphy beat us throwing the ball. If we execute our gameplan we're confident that we'll be able to defend our home field and come away with a week 1 win.
Can you talk about the development of Kamari Wilson so far?
Kamari Wilson was a major pick up for us with the 22 pick in the first round of this year's draft. He developed into the type of player that you have to know where he' is on the field at all times. He can make an impact in the run game, and blitzing the quarterback, but where he's most dangerous is in coverage. His height, speed, awareness and ability to play both man and zone will allow for him to be utilized as a true X-Factor player on our defense.
How has La'el Collins’s experience in the league helped the team so far?
We brought La'el on board during the offseason last year and he's proven to be worth every dollar that we paid for him. Pairing him with Laremy Tunsil, anchoring our offensive line at the Tackle position allowed us to be able to be proficient on that side of the ball last season. We had success running the ball, passing, getting our receivers in space via sweeps and also executing screen passes. His presence has also helped facilitate the growth and development of our younger Lineman. Cesar Ruiz and La'el both made the probowl last season, while Tunsil won OL of the year. As a team we topped 2,000 yards rushing, 3,500 passing, and give up the 8th fewest sacks of all teams, thanks to the stellar play of La'el Collins.
