Analysis 1-16 Fallen
Analysis 17-32 Arod
Rams (2-0): The former superbowl champion Los Angeles Rams look true to form through two weeks. A onslaught against the Seahawks in week 1 followed up by a close victory over one of the best users in the AFC has folks convinced that DK is Super Bowl bound, especially with his style of play and the defensive backs that he has stacked up.
Cowboys (2-0): Mason Garcia has had questionable quarterback play to start the season, but the Cowboys are 2-0 for one of the first times this cycle after a close victory over the Superbowl champions this week. The Cowboys ability to win in the clutch will no doubt help him as the season progresses.
Raiders (2-0): The Raiders are one of the hottest teams in the AFC right now. They have the ultimate test in facing off against the All-Madden CPU Miami Dolphins this week. The CPU can be extremely glitchy at times, how will the Raiders stop the speed of the Dolphins on offense and the AI threat of QB Leary? However, I think the Raiders are destined for a 3-0 start.
Chargers (2-0): Can we believe in the Chargers? Is HD actually forreal this season? In two weeks, he is averaging just shy of 50 points a game and against two very capable teams. Defeating the Texans this week has to give the Chargers an ego boost as they head into week 3’s divisional matchup against the Denver Broncos.
Browns (2-0): Deja Vu? Have we been duped? The Cleveland Browns looked almost unwatchable in the last few games of season 3, but they’ve come out very strong with a 2-0 start. Week 1’s victory over the Ravens is far more impressive than this week’s victory over the Patriots, but week 3’s matchup against the Bengals will prove if Deshaun Watson and company can compete with the big boys in the AFC North.
Giants (0-2): You’re probably wondering how an 0-2 team can be in the top ten, well one of the Giant’s losses came due to pure luck and their second loss was by 5 points. In fact, of all the 0-2 teams, I think the Giants have a higher chance to make the playoffs than any of the others. You just can’t write off the Super Bowl champions after two weeks.
Jaguars (1-1):Is it still a rebuild in Jacksonville? I don’t think so. The Rams are stacked and the Jaguars only lost by four points. They’re still the favourite to win the AFC South and with the Colts and Texans losing this week, the division is still wide open.
Bears (1-1): The Bears are they type of team that will have you believe that they are destined for greatness one week and in the same breath have you questioning the play caller. Their blowout loss to the Raiders this week has some fans shaking their heads, however, they are still in the best position to take home the division crown. If the Bears can find some consistency, they’re going to string a few wins together over the next few weeks, and take the division title before week 15.
Eagles (2-0):Cinderella has found her glass slipper and the Philadelphia Eagles have a better record than the New York Giants…what? The carriage is going to turn back into a pumpkin this week when the Eagles face off against a hungry Giants team that cannot afford to start the season 0-3. The Eagles rookie wide receiver Bond is the real deal and he is at the top of the ORTY race.
Dolphins (2-0): A very questionable 2-0, but Que put in the work to beat the Buffalo Bills this week in a tight knit game. 35-27.. Hm. The Dolphins won with the same score week 1 and 2. Devin Leary hasn’t quite settled down in the offense yet, but Blake Corum is having flashbacks of his rookie MVP season. He’s going to be a bellcow this season as the Dolphins try to overcome their woes of losing in the championship round.
Seahawks (1-1): When Seattle isn’t playing against the Rams, they look almost unstoppable. They have a knack of ball control and forcing turnovers on defense. They have a slew of playoff teams coming up in the next three weeks and it could decide how their season will shape out to be.
49ers (2-0): Who took over Ant’s team and when will he be back? A 2-0 start against two very quality coaches in PML is impressive. Trey Lance is playing the best football that he ever has in PML and despite trading away their longtime offensive threat in George Kittle, the 49ers are averaging over 30 points a game. But, I really need to see the same style of offense in week 4 when the 49ers play against the Rams. They host the Pittsburgh Steelers in week 3, while anything can happen, they’re almost guaranteed to start the season 3-0.
Bucs (1-1):Jacurri Brown was destined to be normal coming out of the PML draft, but through two weeks he has been on fire. Despite the loss, he was the team’s leading rusher and top offensive threat. I think we have a potential quarterback development game on our hands if he can stay consistent with this kind of production.
Packers (1-1): Is Hoocker the guy? He’s had a few starts since the departure of Aaron Rodgers but he hasn’t quite come close to delivering the same type of production. He has turned the ball over 5 times in two games, but the Packers have a dominant defense on paper and I’m excited to see how lockdown their defensive backs can be as the weeks progress this season.
Ravens (1-1):Do not leave Perry in one on one coverage or he will dominate all over the field. Lamar Jackson is proving that his injury hasn’t slowed him down at all. He is one of the league’s top passers through two weeks and has the Baltimore faithful ready to crown him comeback player of the year.
Colts (1-1): Who are the Indianapolis Colts? They were crowned the AFC South champions before the season starter and dominated convincingly in week 1, a heartbreaking loss to the 49ers has most experts confused about this team’s potential.Quinn Ewers has to bounce back in week 3 against a Houston team that has its morale at an all time low.
Bengals (1-1): Bengals once again come back from a big hole to take down the Steelers. Seems like a theme this season. They take on the Browns week 3 which could indicate a changing of the guards in the AFC north.
Jets (1-1): Pat Mahomes gets on the board after a disastrous first game in New York. He only threw 11 passes as he was relegated to bench duties in a convincing victory over Wimmy and the Commanders.
Bills (1-1): Still playing little brother to Que and the Dolphins. Will this trend ever change? They had no answer for Blake Corrum as he rushed for 160+ yards and 2 touchdowns.
Lions (1-1): The Lions had a big chance to prove they are ready to compete with the division but fell short as Green Bay rolled all over them at home. We see glimpses in Detroit but it is never consistent enough to put them in the playoff conversation.
Panthers (1-1): Carolina is keeping pace with the Buccaneers as they break even at 1-1. One thing I want to see. JT needs to move off the gimmick players and put more win-now players on the field to put his team in a position to truly compete. Truly no need for any other RB to have carries when Christian McCaffrey is on your roster and still playing at an elite level.
Saints (1-1): Every team is in play to win this division and nobody is quite standing out just yet. The Saints in my eyes are the dark horse, but not far fetched they can win the division. 2 point loses to the Cardinals however, really hurt those chances.
Commanders (0-2): Has anyone seen Wimmy? Yeah he started slow last season and picked it up, but this a very unbecoming trend to see out of someone who plays at A tier status.
Texans (1-1): Drama just cannot solve HD this cycle. I expect them to climb the rankings, but this loss sets them back for the time being. Murray looked awful throwing 5 interceptions in the blowout loss.
Chiefs (1-1): Here they come. Primed and ready! Trevor Lawrence played exactly how Mali needed him to be- a game manager, while Mitchell dominated on the ground. Could be the winning formula KC needed.
Cardinals (1-1): It’s been 10 weeks since the Cardinals won and man I’m sure Dlloyd needed this. Zach Wilson is won the starting job and threw 40 passes week 2 as the ground game could not get going. After trading Murray for Pierce, this is definitely concerning.
Broncos (0-2): Broncos look like the odd man out of the AFC West as of this write up. Season is still young but feels like the Chargers and Raiders have all the momentum.
Falcons (0-2): Speaking of odd man out, Greeny finds himself in a similar situation down South. We need to circle back to the season 1 JT deal. Justified? I think not at this point. Never sacrifice your franchise season 1 for a RB. Ever.
Vikings (0-2): I don’t know what to say anymore about the situation in Minny. At this point they’re going through quarterbacks like it’s nothing. Sooner or later the scheme has to be questioned and not the man under center.
Patriots (0-2): Nef is getting a lot of heat because the bar was set a little higher for him this season. Maybe it is warranted, or maybe he was an overachiever?
Steelers (0-2): Blew a double digits lead to the Cincy and ultimately lost on a fumble while trying to seal the game- yet again. We’ve had slumps in PML but this takes the cake. Steelers just can’t buy a win at this point.
Titans (0-2): And rounding out the list comes the Titans who honestly I don’t know what is even going on in Tennessee. Got blown out by the Colts 54-7 and then 41-17 by the Chiefs. The Titans are chaos personified. I expect them to climb back, but right now it is just a big mess that Bubba needs to fix.
